"Hah..." Wu Biao opened the clinic door with sleepy eyes, lazily stretching his body under the bright morning sun.
"A truck crashed into the house, and yet everyone is safe and sound!"
Hearing the noise, Wu Biao looked over to see the four members of the Kurosaki family standing at the front gate, staring at the massive hole left by the invisible monster last night.
"Yo, Boss, you're back!" Wu Biao, wearing a tattered white lab coat, waved as he walked over, his face full of excitement. "Boss, you have no idea! Yesterday, I fought a monster that was three meters tall... Ugh!"
Before he could finish, Kurosaki Ichigo rushed over and clamped his hand over Wu Biao's mouth. Although he didn't know how the Soul Reaper had altered the memories of Yuzu Kurosaki and Shyarly, since they believed it was just a truck accident, it was best not to remind them!
"Brother Biao, you can't just go around talking about what happened last night!" Kurosaki Ichigo whispered into Wu Biao's ear.
Wu Biao blinked upon hearing this, then nodded, and Kurosaki Ichigo finally let him go.
"Ichigo said we can't talk about yesterday, so I definitely didn't fight any invisible monsters yesterday!"
"..." Kurosaki Ichigo's mouth twitched. He wanted nothing more than to kick Wu Biao, but after weighing their respective combat strengths, he could only sigh helplessly!
Kurosaki Isshin, standing to the side, frowned slightly but said nothing.
After discussing the non-existent culprit who drove a truck into the Kurosaki residence for a while longer, Yuzu Kurosaki finished making breakfast, and everyone went about their business after eating.
Kurosaki Ichigo went to high school, while Yuzu Kurosaki and Shyarly went to elementary school.
As for Wu Biao, he returned to the clinic and sat behind the counter, bored out of his mind.
Creeak—
The door at the back of the clinic pushed open. Wu Biao looked up and waved a hand. "Not going on any house calls today, Boss?"
"Not today!" Kurosaki Isshin shook his head, then walked over to Wu Biao and asked, "What was that about a monster you mentioned this morning?"
A monster?
Wu Biao paused for a moment before realizing Kurosaki Isshin was asking about last night. As a trustworthy, upstanding youth, since he had promised Kurosaki Ichigo he wouldn't talk about it, he couldn't tell even his boss.
After all, there was a code of conduct to follow.
"Can't do it. Ichigo said we can't talk about last night!"
Kurosaki Isshin's mouth twitched. You idiot, by saying that, you're practically shouting that you're hiding something from me...
However, a mischievous smirk soon curled on Kurosaki Isshin's lips. "Actually, I know those monsters too. If you tell me the details of last night, I can tell you where to find them!"
I can't handle a combat-obsessed idiot like you?
"Really?" Sure enough, Wu Biao's spirits soared. "Boss, you really know where to find those monsters?"
"Mhm, as long as you tell me what happened last night!"
Upon hearing this, Wu Biao threw all thoughts of integrity to the wind. Nothing mattered more than a good fight; finding strong opponents was Wu Biao's lifelong dream.
He immediately proceeded to recount everything that happened the previous night to Kurosaki Isshin without hesitation.
When he heard that Wu Biao had literally slammed a Hollow into oblivion, Kurosaki Isshin's mouth twitched uncontrollably. This guy was definitely not a normal human. It was his first time hearing of someone defeating a Hollow by slamming it, and that strength... was it really something a human should possess?
But when he heard the end, his brow furrowed. "You're saying there were two Ichigos? One carrying a giant sword in black robes, and one standing perfectly still in casual clothes?"
"Yeah!"
"Was there anyone else nearby?" Kurosaki Isshin asked.
Wu Biao recalled for a moment and nodded. "There was a woman in white leaning against the corner. She must have been drunk, so I didn't pay much attention. After I finished fighting, I ate a pot of rice and went to sleep!"
Ignoring Wu Biao's ridiculous theories and his post-fight midnight snack of a whole pot of rice, Kurosaki Isshin managed to piece together most of what happened based on the other clues.
But why was it that after this kid slammed... killed the Hollow, he could see spirits?
Kurosaki Isshin looked at Wu Biao with suspicion and confusion for a long time, but he still couldn't figure out what was up with Wu Biao's constitution. As for why he didn't ask Wu Biao directly, Kurosaki Isshin could say with certainty: this guy would definitely conclude that he was just so smart that he could see ghosts.
"Alright, keep watching the place!"
"Huh!" Wu Biao suddenly straightened up, tilted his head, and looked in a certain direction. "What is this feeling?"
"What's wrong?" Kurosaki Isshin was taken aback.
"I don't know, I can't describe it!" Wu Biao answered without thinking, but his face immediately filled with excitement. "But I can feel it. My hands are signaling it, my heart is boiling. The moment to break the seal has finally arrived! If this world truly needs someone to save it, then I... am willing to be that person!!!"
"..." Kurosaki Isshin slapped his forehead. The over-the-top chuunibyou was back. Actually, this wasn't the first time Wu Biao had said this; it took Kurosaki Isshin a while to understand what he meant.
To put it simply: I sensed a strong opponent, I want to go fight, give me some time off...
But did he really sense a Hollow?
Kurosaki Isshin looked at Wu Biao in astonishment. After gaining spirit vision, his heaven-defying instincts could even sense the presence of Hollows?
Shaking his head, Kurosaki Isshin didn't want to waste any more brain cells on a non-human like Wu Biao. He simply waved his hand. "Go on. If you see Ichigo, tell him to come home early, and pick up two packs of cigarettes while you're at it!"
Wu Biao took the money Kurosaki Isshin handed him and asked, confused, "Why would I see Ichigo?" After a moment of thought, he clapped his hands. "Could it be that those monsters go to the same school as Ichigo?"
"Get lost!"
Wu Biao didn't mind, pushing open the clinic door and rushing out. "Monster, I will destroy you in the name of the moon!"
Passersby immediately cast strange looks his way, and Kurosaki Isshin chose to simply 'slam' the door shut... I really don't know this guy!
Wu Biao sprinted toward the location he had sensed, leaping over rivers and jumping across rooftops. After running wildly, he finally arrived at what looked like a park.
However... what met his eyes was the scene of Kurosaki Ichigo stabbing his sword into the monster's mask, causing it to dissipate into starlight. His entire body slumped in disappointment.
"Kurosaki Ichigo, you actually stole my kill!!!"
The shrill, miserable shriek immediately startled both Ichigo and Rukia, causing them to turn their heads toward the park entrance.
Wu Biao strode forward, looking at the spot where the Hollow had vanished with immense heartbreak: "No, your opponent was me! You were only supposed to be slain by my hand, why did you have to leave me behind first!"
"..." Kurosaki Ichigo's mouth twitched slightly. He suddenly felt that the ridiculous mission Rukia had just given him would definitely make this guy ecstatic if he were the one doing it!
Rukia gave Wu Biao a strange look. Was this human here to steal jobs from them, the Soul Reapers? Could he be any more dramatic?
"Biao-ge, why are you here?"
Wu Biao glared at Ichigo with extreme annoyance and retorted irritably: "I felt a signal sent to me by the monster, so I sprinted all the way here!"
Sensing?
Rukia frowned. Could he have visualized the spirit threads?
Impossible. Even among Soul Reapers, only high-ranking ones could see them; how could this human possibly see them?
"What do you mean by sensing? Did you see some kind of ribbon?"
Only then did Wu Biao notice Rukia standing to the side: "Who are you!" After saying that, he glanced at Kurosaki Ichigo and nodded in realization: "Is this your mating partner?"
"..." Kurosaki Ichigo.
Rukia's mouth twitched.
You bastard! Do you believe I won't blast you to death with a Shakkaho!!!
"What are you babbling about? Biao-ge is so smart, it sent me a signal the moment it came out!" Wu Biao said to himself, then straightened the collar of his white lab coat: "That guy has good taste, knowing to report to me first upon arriving on Biao-ge's turf."
Forget it, he's just a battle-crazed idiot.
Rukia sighed inwardly: "Ichigo, let's go. Return to your body."
"Yeah!"
"Wait!"
"What is it, Biao-ge? I still have to go back to class!"
"Ugh, I was in such a rush running here that I didn't memorize the way. You need to take me home first."
"..."
