To be honest, Char didn't like the protagonist's personality either.

At first, he hadn't put himself in the protagonist's shoes. Looking at things from an all-knowing perspective, he'd thought some of the protagonist's actions were pretty understandable. Because of a prophecy he'd heard as a child, the protagonist believed he was the savior and worked hard toward that goal.

If one day he really got to pilot a giant robot and truly became the savior, then getting excited was only natural. Becoming the savior was the one goal he'd pursued throughout his short life.

But after watching ten episodes, Char no longer saw it that way.

Holy crap, he hasn't grown at all.

In the previous episode—the tenth—he'd even disobeyed orders, putting civilians in harm's way and nearly getting one of his teammates killed.

But Char didn't care anymore.

He was here to watch giant robots. Whatever happened to the protagonist, he didn't care.

So he turned off the comments. Out of sight, out of mind.

The anime continued.

The meeting of the human leaders reached no conclusions.

The scene shifted to the protagonist.

He was being held in solitary confinement for disobeying orders.

At that moment, he gripped the bars of his cell with both hands and shouted, "I'm the savior! Let me out! You can't do this without me!"

"Tsk."

Char suddenly felt so annoyed that he wanted to skip ahead.

But in the end, he didn't.

The story continued.

The officer in charge of the protagonist's team discovered a distress signal coming from a dangerous area occupied by the extraterrestrial creatures.

She decided to send the team to investigate. But the squad couldn't agree on whether to let the protagonist join them, and they started arguing right there in the command room.
