Although Lolita had retreated, her threat remained.
Liewen dared not lower his guard.
Since the other party had already developed the intent to kill him, he would not sit idly by and wait for death.
To deal with Lolita, he had to increase his strength.
Regarding the Laws of Light, the Mysteries of Light Element had reached perfection, the Profundity of Purification had been cultivated to the level of 32 rays of light, and the fusion of the Mysteries of Light Element and the Profundity of Purification was less than ten percent.
Moving forward, whether he cultivated the Profundity of Purification to perfection or fully fused the Mysteries of Light Element and the Profundity of Purification, Liewen would be able to become a Midgod.
Once he became a Midgod, the power of his divine energy alone would increase tenfold as it transformed from Lowgod energy to Midgod energy; even if Lolita had two Lowgod Clones, she would be no match for Liewen.
However, as things stood, it would take Liewen at least several decades to become a Midgod.
The deeper one went into the comprehension of the Laws and Mysteries, the harder it became, and the more time it required.
If I could cultivate the Rules of Fate into a god, I wouldn't fear that Lolita even if she has two Lowgod Clones.
Liewen took out the Bible and began to contemplate the Rules of Fate recorded within.
While Liewen was in seclusion, the battle that took place in Yulan City quickly spread across the entire Yulan Continent.
The protagonists were, of course, the three god-level powerhouses who had fought.
As for Liewen's breakthrough, the ordinary citizens of Yulan City did not understand the significance of what had happened at the time; only those Saint Realm powerhouses knew that the Yulan Continent had gained another god-level powerhouse.
On January 1, Yulan Calendar 10023, the Baruch Empire was founded. Liewen did not leave Yulan City, instead entrusting the Yulan Empire's delegation to convey his congratulations.
It was also on this day that Liewen received a divine sense transmission from the High Priest.
The Necropolis of the Gods was about to open.
The Necropolis of the Gods opened once every thousand years, and the next opening was scheduled for March 3, Yulan Calendar 10024.
This opening would be divided into two batches: the first batch would consist of Saint Realm experts recognized by the High Priest and other god-level powerhouses, and the second batch would be the god-level powerhouses themselves.
Back then, the High Priest had given Liewen a green token; that was the proof of recognition, and only those who obtained the token were qualified to enter the Necropolis of the Gods.
Linley had also received a token from the War God.
Some of the High Priest's disciples left the Forest of Life to travel across the Yulan Continent and notify the Saint Realm powerhouses on the High Priest's side.
The Saint Realm experts recognized by the High Priest did not all live in Yulan City; some lived in seclusion elsewhere.
Liewen continued to cultivate while waiting for the opening of the Necropolis of the Gods.
During this period, there were some minor episodes: the earth-style Saint Magus Rudeus, who lived in Mole Town on the outskirts of Yulan City, died, and the Starry Sky Sword Saint Tylong also died.
The one who killed them was Bebe.
Bebe had already met Beirut and learned of his own origins from him, so he had come to seek revenge on Rudeus and Tylong.
The deaths of the two Saint Realm experts sparked some discussion, but Liewen paid no attention to it.
Finally, the time arrived at March 3, Yulan Calendar 10024. In the Forest of Life, the Saint Realm powerhouses on the High Priest's side had all gathered together.
The High Priest held twenty-two spots for entry into the Necropolis of the Gods. Originally, one of them was Liewen's, but now that Liewen had become a god, he naturally did not need it, so it was given to someone else.
"Let's go."
The High Priest and Liewen flew side by side, with twenty-two Saint Realm powerhouses following behind, heading north toward the Dark Forest.
Many of the Saint Realm powerhouses on the High Priest's side were Saint Magi; some were her disciples, and some were Saint Realm experts like Liewen who had accepted the High Priest's token.
"Liewen, you haven't met Lord Beirut yet, have you?" the High Priest transmitted via divine sense.
"No."
"Lord Beirut's strength is unfathomable; he is very likely a Highgod. When we arrive at the Dark Forest, be cautious and do not provoke him," the High Priest reminded Liewen.
"I understand, thank you."
The group flew at high speed, arriving at the heart of the Dark Forest.
Before long, everyone saw a pitch-black Metal Castle.
This castle was entirely black, occupied an area of several miles, and was formed from a strange black metal.
"Everyone stay on the plaza outside the castle; you are not allowed to enter the castle without permission."
The High Priest said this to the Saint Realm experts behind her, then said to Liewen, "Liewen, let's enter the castle."
Liewen followed the High Priest into the Metal Castle.
In a courtyard within the castle, an old man in black robes was sitting under a tree reading a book.
His long black hair was draped over his shoulders, his beard reached his chest, and although his eyes were small, they were as brilliant as the stars.
"Liewen, that is Lord Beirut," the High Priest transmitted to Liewen.
The two landed in the courtyard and bowed, saying, "Lord Beirut."
"Catherine, you've arrived."
Beirut shifted his gaze from the book and looked at Liewen.
"Liewen, this is our first time meeting, isn't it?"
"Yes, Lord Beirut." Liewen responded neither servile nor overbearing.
"Not bad. To reach the god level at just over fifty years old—among this generation on the Yulan Continent, those who can compare to you can be counted on one hand," Beirut said with a smile.
Liewen felt a jolt in his heart. He was born in the year 9972 of the Yulan Calendar, making him exactly fifty-one this year, yet very few people knew that.
Because he had always kept a low profile, he could be said to have had no fame at all before his battle with Useno. Furthermore, due to the Day of Destruction, most people who knew about the Andrew Family of the Fenlai Kingdom had died, leaving many with no way to learn of his past.
Only those from the Holy Union could have dug up a little information.
East of the Magical Beast Mountain Range, basically no one knew that there was an Andrew Family in the Fenlai Kingdom, let alone that Liewen hailed from it.
For Beirut to state his age so casually, it was clear he knew quite a lot.
However, considering Beirut's identity, Liewen was no longer surprised.
On the Yulan Continent, the High Priest, the War God, and many other Saint Realm powerhouses all speculated that the Necropolis of the Gods was a game played by Sovereigns.
They guessed that the Sovereigns intentionally placed Godsparks, artifacts, and other treasures inside, then set up various dangers, allowing Saint Realm and god-level experts to enter and hunt for treasure, while the Sovereigns looked down from on high, watching everyone struggle for their lives inside for their own amusement.
And Beirut was the Sovereign's Emissary, representing the Sovereigns to manage the Necropolis of the Gods.
But Liewen, who was familiar with the original story, knew that Beirut was not a Sovereign's Emissary; he was a Sovereign himself, and the Necropolis of the Gods was something he had built.
Over ten thousand years ago, and again over five thousand years ago, when the Violet Blood Demon, the Twelve-Winged God Angel, and other Highgod powerhouses came to the Yulan Continent to slaughter each other in competition for Sovereign Artifacts, it was all a grand show directed by Beirut.
As a Sovereign, as long as Beirut wanted to, many things on the Yulan Continent could not be hidden from him.
"Thank you for the compliment, Lord Beirut," Liewen said.
The High Priest beside him glanced at Liewen, the mask on her face concealing her look of astonishment.
She also had not known that Liewen was only fifty-some years old.
"O'Brien and the others haven't arrived yet. You two wait here for a moment," Beirut said, then continued reading his book.
Two protrusions suddenly appeared on the floor of the courtyard, forming two chairs.
This was an ability of the Metal Castle.
This Metal Castle was a type of lifeform from a higher plane known as a Metal Lifeform.
They flew at high speeds, and their interiors could change space and objects at will, capable of accommodating many people to live and reside within.
In the higher planes, they were the most common means of travel.
