As Lan Qingyou flew toward the town, she heard explosions from time to time.
The sounds grew louder as she drew closer.
Only when she entered the town did Lan Qingyou see that the entire place had descended into chaos.
Explosions and screams rang out incessantly.
Ruined buildings, burning houses.
Thick smoke visible even in the darkness.
And... groups of purplish-brown monsters walking on tentacles.
These monsters were called [sea demons].
They had octopus-like tentacles, above which sat three upright eyes enclosed by two shells.
Countless tiny feelers grew around their eyes—or rather, inside their shells.
They looked a little strange.
The Magic Eye's appraisal revealed that these creatures possessed some mental pollution properties.
But that was all.
At least, Lan Qingyou felt nothing.
Or rather, their mental pollution abilities had yet to reach a level capable of contaminating her.
"Tsk, tsk. I was only gone for a little while. How did things get so interesting?"
Looking at the tavern by the beach, which she had visited earlier but was now utterly wrecked, Lan Qingyou smiled.
Though the appearance of these sea demons had turned the once-bustling town into something resembling a battlefield.
Lan Qingyou felt no sorrow for anyone.
In a world like this, sorrow was the least necessary emotion.
Lan Qingyou snapped her fingers.

The sea demon at the entrance to the ruined little tavern was flattened outright and killed.
"Not particularly tough."
That was the feedback Lan Qingyou received from her first attack.
The force she had just applied was roughly equivalent to the crushing pressure of a Dayun truck running something over.
In other words, although these sea demons looked strange and possessed mental pollution abilities.
They were not so powerful as to be ridiculously overpowered.
