At the helicopter landing platform, Edgar watched the image on the vehicle-mounted screen of Maeve being suppressed by the Black Lord Battle Armor and sighed.
He picked up his phone and used The Seven's internal private channel to contact Homelander.
Originally, he had hoped that Maeve and Starlight would work together to rescue Arnold smoothly, thereby completing the deal with the Department of Defense.
But unexpectedly, although they had already brought Arnold out of the Empire State Building, Maeve had been suppressed by a newly appeared Battle Armor and did not seem to have much chance of winning.
Edgar had no choice but to contact Homelander.
Howling wind sounded from the phone, followed by Homelander's voice. "What is it? Make it quick. I'm watching the show. Oh, Maeve looks like she's about to lose."
The muscles on the Black CEO's face twitched slightly.

Over the phone, Edgar heard Homelander laugh. "If I wanted Vought's shares, why wouldn't I just kill you and take them all? Wouldn't I make even more that way?"
A chill ran down Edgar's back, but he still smiled calmly. "Forgive me for saying so, but I should have more experience than you when it comes to running a company."
He had expected a sneer or mockery, but instead, after two seconds of silence, Homelander actually said, "Makes sense."
