Background / History

Tang San entered Nuoding Academy as a work-study student with Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power. Yu Xiaogang recognized the apparent contradiction between his martial soul and innate power, concluding that Tang San possessed Twin Martial Souls and taking a strong interest in making him his disciple. Tang San initially looked down on Chen Yumo and had no desire to befriend him. 4

In the Soul Hunting Forest, Yu Xiaogang protected Tang San from a Mandala Snake and was poisoned in the process. Tang San was moved by this sacrifice, absorbed the snake's Spirit Ring, and resolved to follow Yu Xiaogang loyally. His father, Tang Hao, secretly observed the event and began to regard Tang San as his hope for future revenge. 10

Tang San consistently defended Yu Xiaogang during the latter's conflict with Chen Yumo. He supported his teacher after Yu Xiaogang publicly denounced Chen Yumo's Ice Silkworm Martial Soul, then later encouraged him through a breakdown caused by Chen Yumo's successful martial-soul evolution. 14 28

After acquiring his second Spirit Ring, Tang San considered his Blue Silver Grass a genuine combat martial soul despite its reputation as weak. However, his cultivation repeatedly slowed due to emotional strain, injuries, and his fixation on Chen Yumo. 21 26 32 123

Tang San later attended Shrek Academy alongside Xiao Wu. His confrontation with Chen Yumo in a two-person arena ended in defeat: Tang San's hidden weapons and Ghost-Faced Toad venom failed, and he suffered a permanent facial scar. 79 82
