And so he returned to the day before he had traveled through time, back to his own DC Universe. He stood in front of the Kent Family house.

The house was not large, two stories, with white outer walls and a blue roof. There was a maple tree by the door, its leaves red, rustling in the morning breeze. A pair of boots sat on the steps, caked with mud. They were Jonathan's. The porch light was still on, its orange glow spilling over the steps.

That photo had been taken a long time ago. Back then he had still been little, with a round face and messy hair. Ian stood in front of that photo and looked at it for a long time.
