Background

Before enrolling at Advanced Nurturing High School, Toru considered himself an ordinary person without special talents and believed money was his most reliable means of influencing others. His situation changed when his first completed Diary entry received an A evaluation and awarded him the Infinite Voice Recorder. 2 12

Assigned to Class B, Toru arrived late and immediately operated independently of his class. He entered Class C, approached suspected Diary Copy holders Shiina Hiyori and Ibuki Mio, and distributed Voice Recorders as gifts or “hush money.” 4 He later sold Ryuen Kakeru early intelligence about the school in exchange for two million Private Points, using a Voice Recorder as collateral and formalizing the deal through Sakagami Kazuma. 6 7
