Background / History
Tang San was regarded as a once-in-a-century genius because of his Twin Martial Souls. At Notting Academy, he used Tang Sect secret arts—including Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, Mysterious Jade Hand, and Purple Demon Eye—to defeat older work-study students. He took great pride in both his Tang Sect heritage and his expected future as a Soul Master. 1 2
His rivalry with Qin Feng began when Qin Feng publicly lifted a 150-jin stone lock using a wooden lever and fulcrum. Tang San could not reconcile the feat with his own understanding of force and accepted Qin Feng’s public challenge in defense of Tang Sect techniques. 3
During their confrontation, Qin Feng and Grey Wolf systematically countered Tang San’s methods: a strobe device disrupted his Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, a high-voltage stun gun bypassed the protection of Mysterious Jade Hand, and Grey Wolf’s magnetized frying pan neutralized his hidden weapons. The defeats severely damaged Tang San’s confidence and began his fixation on surpassing Qin Feng. 4 5 6
Tang San later absorbed a Ghost Vine spirit ring, only for Qin Feng to publicly demonstrate a chemically mutated foxtail grass that further undermined his confidence. After Orochimaru arrived, Tang San became the scientists’ primary target because of his Twin Martial Souls, unusual body, internal cultivation, and ocular technique. 17 18 19
Orochimaru overpowered Tang San and implanted the Heaven Cursed Seal in his neck. The seal dramatically increased his power but caused agony, corruption, and a growing loss of control. Tang San reached Soul Power Level 15, then attempted to confront Qin Feng at the newly established Umbrella Corporation; Orochimaru effortlessly suppressed him through the very seal he had bestowed. 20 21
Qin Feng and Orochimaru subsequently confined Tang San for long-term experimentation. His Clear Sky Hammer absorbed cursed-seal energy, his body was altered with the T-Virus, and his martial souls were targeted for genetic appropriation. His condition deteriorated into a monstrous form used as both an experimental subject and a power source. 36 37 38 59
At Umbrella’s underground laboratory, pure data origin merged with Tang San’s soul and triggered his premature awakening. He became the Data Calamity Entity, driven almost entirely by hatred toward Qin Feng. Qin Feng then confined him within Nuoding City’s Large Hadron Collider and accelerated him to near-light speed before colliding him with antimatter. 89 90
The collision condensed Tang San into the crystal-like Law Singularity: Tang San. Although his individual will appeared dormant, the singularity retained enormous energy and self-evolving potential. It later became unstable after forming a connection with an unknown plane. 91 104
Appearance
Tang San initially appears as a thin, black-haired boy with a determined gaze. During his duel with Qin Feng, his fingertips show a jade-like luster from Mysterious Jade Hand. 2 4
- Early appearance — Black hair, thin frame, sharp eyes, and a composed stance befitting a proud prodigy. 2 4
- Heaven Cursed Seal — Three black tomoe marks spread from his neck, accompanied by dark patterns, blackened nails, and bloodshot eyes. 20 21
- Biochemical mutation — Gray-black or bluish-gray skin, cursed-seal patterns, eight spider-like limbs or bone spikes, and purple-black Blue Silver Grass appendages. 59 67 89
- Data Calamity form — One eye glows with blue data streams while the other is blood-red; his back bears a giant data eye, and his martial souls manifest with circuitry and metallic features. 89
- Law Singularity form — A dense crystal containing his curled-up soul in apparent serenity. 91
Personality
Tang San begins as proud, competitive, and deeply attached to the honor of the Tang Sect. Praise from his peers and Yu Xiaogang reinforces his belief that his secret arts and Twin Martial Souls place him above ordinary students. Qin Feng’s indifference provokes him because it challenges that self-image. 2 3
Repeated humiliation turns his pride into obsessive hatred. Even after recognizing the destructive side effects of the Heaven Cursed Seal, he embraces its power as a means to repay Qin Feng “a hundredfold.” 20 21
As experimentation escalates, Tang San’s identity and rationality erode. By his awakening as the Data Calamity Entity, his consciousness is overwhelmed by the T-Virus, cursed seal, and data origin; only the urge to kill Qin Feng and destroy Umbrella remains. 89
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses two Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. His dual-martial-soul constitution makes him a subject of exceptional interest to Qin Feng and Orochimaru. 1 19
- Blue Silver Grass — Initially regarded by Yu Xiaogang as a waste martial soul. 2
- Clear Sky Hammer — A second martial soul normally kept hidden; Orochimaru identifies it as a highly dense, power-oriented manifestation. 20
- Later mutation — His Blue Silver Emperor becomes metallic, cable-like tentacles, while the Clear Sky Hammer evolves into a data-based weapon patterned with golden circuitry. 89
Tang Sect Secret Arts
Tang San retains techniques from the Tang Sect, which he treats as the core of his identity and combat style. 2 3
- Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon — Uses suction and force manipulation to pull opponents or objects. 1 2
- Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — High-speed footwork that creates afterimages; disrupted by Qin Feng’s strobe-light countermeasure. 4
- Mysterious Jade Hand — Reinforces his hands into a jade-like, hardened state resistant to toxins and physical damage; it does not protect him from electrical conduction through his body. 4 5
- Mysterious Heaven Skill — Internal cultivation technique that later attempts to suppress and decompose the Heaven Cursed Seal’s invading energy. 3 38
- Purple Demon Eye — Ocular technique that aids observation and targeting; it advances following his spirit-ring absorption. 3 17
Hidden Weapons
Tang San employs concealed Tang Sect weaponry, especially when enraged or outmatched.
- Bone-Piercing Nails — Poisoned projectiles made with Datura Snake toxin. 5 20
- Sleeve Arrow — A concealed firing mechanism used at close range. 5
- Back-Mounted Flower Crossbow bolts — Used during his attempted ambush on Orochimaru. 20
- Sand-Shooting Shadow — Included in his full hidden-weapon barrage against Orochimaru. 20
- Limitation — Grey Wolf’s electromagnetic frying-pan device can attract and deflect his metal hidden weapons. 6
Heaven Cursed Seal
Orochimaru’s seal forcibly stimulates Tang San’s potential through highly active Jugo Cell Enzyme. 20
- Raises his strength and Soul Power rapidly, including his rise to Level 15. 21
- Connects his Soul Power to his life force; later analysis states that injuries can make him stronger. 89
- Produces black tomoe patterns, violent impulses, and overwhelming pain. 20 21
- Remains susceptible to Orochimaru’s direct control and punishment. 21
- Causes dangerous interaction with the Clear Sky Hammer and contributes to his later mutation. 36 37
Biochemical and Data-Based Evolution
Through T-Virus treatment, cursed-seal alteration, divine imprints, and pure data origin, Tang San evolves into an artificial biological weapon and then a data lifeform. 38 89
- T-Virus Proto-Nucleus — Replaces his heart with a dim-blue energy core. 89
- Regeneration — The T-Virus reconstructs his cells and grants nearly limitless regenerative ability. 89
- Spider lances — Eight destructive bone spikes or spider-like appendages emerge from his back. 59 89
- Data Clear Sky Hammer — A black data-turbulence weapon bearing destructive purple lightning and blood-red killing intent. 89
- Reality alteration — Can pixelate and distort surrounding space through his evolved hammer. 90
- Data eye — A massive eye formed from data streams manifests among his back appendages. 89
Law Singularity
Following the collider experiment and antimatter collision, Tang San becomes a quantum superposition entity. 91
- Exists as both an inanimate object and a living entity. 91
- Contains fused Asura, Sea God, T-Virus, and data-source components. 91
- Assessed as a godhead-like source of infinite energy and a self-evolving super-biological computer. 91
- Later shows instability, cracking and establishing a connection with an unknown plane. 104
