Brainstorming really did work. Sol immediately came up with an idea for fighting the Abyss.
The Red Worm and the Bone Army were both defensive measures. They would counter the Anchor Point, as well as the other monsters and Corruption emerging from the Abyss.
But after deducing how a Sixth Rank could be resurrected, Sol and the others now had a direction to pursue if they wanted to get to the root of the problem.
As for whether they could come up with a concrete solution now that they had a direction, that would depend on their continued efforts.
Unlike Sol, who was excited, the others seemed somewhat subdued.
Shaya: [But how difficult would it be to destroy a Sixth Rank's understanding of the essence? We don't even know what his understanding is, so how can we talk about destroying it?]
After a brief silence, Gorsa more or less understood what Sol was getting at.
Gorsa: [It's certainly difficult. But we're not trying to destroy a Sixth Rank's understanding. We're trying to stop him from resurrecting. His understanding of the essence must have already been destroyed for him to end up in this state.]
Floco also perked up.
Floco: [Exactly! So our goal isn't to destroy it, but to stop him from rebuilding his understanding of the world. He's constantly devouring the Wizard World now, probably hoping to rebuild his understanding of the essence by digesting it.]
Sol thought of Camus again. He could already control the Skeletons in the Abyss. Did that mean the dead Sixth Rank was gradually building a new understanding?
Shaya still instinctively took a pessimistic view.
Shaya: [But how are we supposed to stop him? Keep the Abyss from devouring the continent? Isn't that basically what we're already doing?]
Gorsa: [Something just came to mind.
