Thor helped Floco analyze the situation.

"Now, whenever you pass your luck to someone outside, they can take on part of the Deep Sea Curse for you. The curse will take effect quickly, harming them. But if they're careful and avoid it, there's no guarantee they'll die."

Thor had gotten used to teaching during this time, and a little blackboard rose from the floor behind him, right on cue.

A chalk-textured illustration appeared on its black surface, automatically demonstrating the scenario Thor was describing.

"Right now, you're sealed away and can only use a little of your power. But there's one power you can make use of: the Deep Sea Curse currently sealing you. Usually, the curse either weighs down on you or rebounds onto those who've received your luck. If someone receives your luck but the Deep Sea's backlash doesn't affect them, it'll create a force opposite to the curse's original effect."

"I've thought of that, too. But I can't stop the curse from rebounding."

"That's why I'm going to give it a try."

Floco had been sealed away for hundreds of years and had tried every way he could think of to escape, all without success. Thor had come up with a plan, but Floco didn't have high hopes for it.

"How are you going to try?"

"I'll attempt to use a special method to redirect the backlash toward somewhere near you."

As he spoke, a thin, translucent line extended from Thor's fingertip. It moved through the air like a living earthworm, inching toward Floco.

"Gulp."

Seeing the line again, Floco's throat bobbed twice.

He didn't actually need to swallow, but for some reason, he especially wanted to make that gesture now.

"Are you going to attach that line to me?"
