Alfonso could tell that Thor genuinely didn't want to come here and join the commotion, but today's meeting had been personally ordered by Court Master Flim, who had insisted that Thor attend.

"Today's meeting concerns the approaching Black Tide. The Court Master specifically requested your presence."

Thor remained unmoved.

Even if they let him attend, they wouldn't entrust him with any important assignments. At most, they'd have him stand by and support the others.

Whether anyone would use him as cannon fodder depended on whether his own strength could impress the people of the Judgment Court.

Though he wasn't keen on it, Thor had no choice but to set aside his experiment and follow Alfonso through the Eternal Night Royal Palace.

At last, the two appeared outside the Royal Palace.

"Hm? The meeting isn't being held in the Eternal Night Royal Palace?" Seeing the soldiers and Wizards outside, Thor realized the gathering was probably much larger than he'd imagined.

At some point, a massive sunken Council Hall had appeared outside the Eternal Night Royal Palace.

Like a lecture hall, the center of the Conference Hall sat lowest, while the rows of seats rose higher and higher around it.

Since night had already fallen, burning torches lit each of the aisles.

As for why they used torches instead of the more energy-efficient and convenient Fluorite, Thor had no idea.

He had noticed that people on the Nephrite Continent were very accustomed to using flames for illumination. Even high-ranking Wizards used fireproof lamps rather than Witchcraft to provide light.

Following Alfonso, Thor took a seat in the front row and waited quietly.

Before long, Thor saw a man in a simple black formal suit, wearing the Golden Thorn Crown, stride into the Council Hall.

Behind this imposing man followed a short fellow
