Although he realized the person flying over was Byron, there were others with him. At the last moment, Thor concealed himself behind a Red Worm more than three meters long.
Ordinary people couldn't see the Red Worms, nor could they see Thor, who blended into the background. Those who could see the worms, meanwhile, would be so distracted by the striking Red Worm that they'd overlook Thor hiding behind it.
Soon, Byron appeared, accompanied by two Wizards, both Tier 1 Wizards. All three of them, Byron included, had a Red Worm on them.
The two Tier 1 Wizards had worms no bigger than an arm, but the one on Byron was especially huge, nearly two meters tall and already taller than he was. It clung to his back, and from a distance it looked like he was carrying an enormous pack.
Thor had seen other Tier 2 Wizards just moments ago, but not one of them had a worm as large as Byron's.
Judging by the formation they kept as they moved, Byron still seemed to be leading this small team.
"Has Senior managed to work his way up to a leadership role after infiltrating enemy territory? Why is his worm so huge?" Thor thought Byron didn't seem to need rescuing.
Thor tugged on the Fate Line belonging to Byron within his own spiritual body.
Byron, who had been hurrying along, suddenly stopped.
"What is it, sir?"
Byron's eyes shifted. "Go on ahead and carry out the mission. I need to check on the other experimental subjects."
The two Tier 1 Wizards following Byron didn't notice anything amiss. They nodded and left first.
Byron, however, flew back in the direction Thor had come from. Halfway there, he stopped and looked around. No one else seemed to be approaching for now.
