A Conversation with the Grey Lady

"Don't tell Roger and Milton about this just yet."

Scott gave Eddie the instruction, then got dressed and left the dormitory.

It was still nowhere near the time he was supposed to meet the Weasley Twins, but he decided to head to the empty classroom on the third floor of the main building and make some preparations first.

However, as he passed through the Common Room, he suddenly changed his mind—after he spotted the Grey Lady floating alone in front of the library shelves.

Perhaps because it was Halloween Eve, there were no students reading in the little library inside Ravenclaw House's Common Room.

Scott entered the library alone and stopped five paces behind the Grey Lady. Then he greeted her politely.

"Hello, Grey Lady."

The Grey Lady turned around and regarded Scott with a distinctly indifferent gaze.

"Can I help you?" she asked coolly.

Scott didn't mind the ghost's proud, aloof manner. She was like that with everyone.

And if the person greeting her wasn't a Ravenclaw student, she wouldn't even speak.

Maintaining his polite demeanor, Scott began slowly, "Sorry to bother you. I was wondering if you knew about what happened after dinner tonight."

The Grey Lady shook her head. "I've just returned from Sir Nicholas's five-hundredth Deathday Party. What happened?"

"Someone petrified Filch's cat," Scott began. "And left a message on the wall."

He recited the words to the Grey Lady. "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the Heir, beware."

At that, the Grey Lady's expression finally changed. The words almost escaped her lips. "The Chamber? Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets?"

"That's right, Grey Lady." Scott furrowed his brow slightly and put on a worried expression. "I've also heard the rumors about Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets and the Heir. You may not know this, but
