In the blink of an eye, Saturday had arrived.
The first Quidditch match of the school year was being held that day.
In the dormitory, Scott was hunched over his desk, writing something on a piece of parchment with a quill.
The black crow stood motionless beside his hand.
His two roommates were discussing the upcoming Quidditch match.
"The first match of the year is Gryffindor versus Slytherin!" Eddie said eagerly.
Roger sounded just as excited. "Perfect! We'll see how Gryffindor fares against Slytherin now that they've got new brooms!"
Just then, Eddie walked over to Scott and called out, "Scott, the match is about to start. Let's go!"
"Eddie! Roger!"
The crow on Scott's desk sprang to life. Strutting proudly back and forth, it began calling out Eddie and Roger's names over and over.
"Eddie! Roger! Eddie! Roger..."
"Oh!" Eddie clapped his hands over his ears. "Make it shut up, Scott!"
Scott picked up his wand and waved it. The crow immediately fell silent.
He looked up at Eddie. "The match between Gryffindor and Slytherin?"
Eddie nodded. "Come on, today's match is bound to be exciting!"
He grinned mischievously. "Just think about it: Gryffindor and Slytherin absolutely hate each other! Especially Potter and Malfoy! I bet the number of fouls in this match will break the record!"
Scott shook his head, looking uninterested.
"I'll pass," he said, then glanced at Roger. "Of course, I'll go when Ravenclaw plays."
With that, he lowered his head and continued writing.
Eddie tried to persuade him again. "Oh, come on, mate!"
"Sorry, I'm a bit busy," Scott said without looking up.
"Forget it, Eddie," Roger said, sounding a little unhappy.
"Scott's busy studying, and Milton ran off to the Classical Music Club ages ago. Neither of those two cares much for Quidditch!"
