Their defense, attack power, and Soul Power recovery were all enhanced. Long Sui looked at Gu Yue's figure and licked his lips. "Second Soul Skill: Mad Dragon's Confusion."
Gu Yue was caught by the skill. Jiang Huai looked over and saw the mad dragon licking his lips as he slowly walked toward her.
Just as Jiang Huai had guessed, dragons were lustful by nature, no matter the time or place.
Furious, Jiang Huai punched Jiao Er and sent her flying, then swung his sword at Long Sui. Long Sui didn't take Jiang Huai seriously and tried to block the blow with his arm.
The result was that Jiang Huai sliced off Long Sui's arm, interrupting his Soul Skill, Mad Dragon's Confusion.
Gu Yue came back to her senses and nearly fell. Jiang Huai caught her and gave her a hamburger that restored Soul Power.
Jiang Huai said something to Gu Yue. Then the two held hands, their Soul Power beginning to connect—the legendary Martial Soul Fusion Skill.
Suddenly, Jiang Huai pulled Gu Yue close and kissed her. Terrifying dragon might erupted across the arena. Seeing that their opponents had begun fusing their Soul Power, Long Sui and Jiao Er began their own fusion, Dragon and Tiger Intertwining. Their Dragon Struggles Tiger Rages fusion skill was the first to take shape.
A dragon and a tiger flew toward Jiang Huai and Gu Yue. Jiang Huai and Gu Yue opened their eyes, and their bodies began to merge.
A tall woman appeared. A silver dragon beside her transformed into a spear, while a black-and-gold dragon on the other side circled once before becoming a sword. It was Jiang Huai's Martial Soul, the Jinxu Longyuan Sword—though Jiang Huai called it Ash Ruins Dragon Abyss.
The woman looked much like Gu Yue, but she was actually Gu Yuena herself. Her injuries made it impossible for her to enter the human world in her true form. This Martial Soul Fusion allowed Gu Yue to see Jiang Huai's past and present.
Jiang Huai's previous life had been in another world, on a place called Blue Star. Humans there lived their own lives. What they called Soul Beasts were better described as animals. The animals had their own habitats, though some people still went poaching.
Suddenly, Gu Yuena turned the two weapons beside her back into dragons, then pointed at Long Sui and Jiao Er. The dragons charged straight at them. The silver dragon sent Jiao Er flying off the fighting platform.
Long Sui wasn't so lucky. The black-and-gold dragon killed him with a single bite right there on the fighting platform.
The host was about to raise a hand and call for people to remove Jiang Huai and Gu Yue from the arena, but a terrifying gaze fixed on him, frightening him into staying still.
Before long, Jiang Huai and Gu Yue ended their Martial Soul Fusion. The two left the fighting platform and headed to the registration desk.
The people at the registration desk immediately revoked their right to compete. In other words, Jiang Huai and Gu Yue's competitor accounts were banned—permanently. They were forbidden from competing ever again.
Jiang Huai didn't care. He collected the Soul Fighting Coins he'd won and left. Gu Yue was a little displeased, but she did the same, taking her money pouch and leaving.
The eight of them met up and left the Great Soul Arena. Jiang Huai asked where Dean Flender had gone.
Dai Mubai waved a hand. "He said he was going to stop by a shop. No idea what he's up to."
Just then, a slender woman walked behind Dai Mubai. Her beauty instantly stirred Ma Hongjun's lust.
Ma Hongjun cleared his throat. "Uh, why don't you guys go on ahead? I've got something to do."
Jiang Huai and the others looked at him, baffled. Dai Mubai had already caught the lingering fragrance of the woman who'd just passed. He gave Ma Hongjun a lecherous smile. "Oh? Try not to overdo it."
Ma Hongjun leaned closer and coaxed him. "You're not coming? I won a match today. But if you don't want to, forget it."
Dai Mubai glanced at him. "I'm not going."
Ma Hongjun tried again, ingratiatingly. "Come on. I know you're hungry."
"Damn, Fatty! Can't you hear me saying I'm not going? I'm a gentleman."
"Tsk." Four people clicked their tongues in unison.
Dai Mubai glared at them. Jiang Huai met his gaze and asked coldly, "Got a problem?"
Dai Mubai felt a chill run down his back. He didn't dare provoke Jiang Huai—or even Gu Yue.
But Zhu Zhuqing said without warning, "Scum."
Dai Mubai awkwardly scratched his head, but Zhu Zhuqing added, "Childish."
Dai Mubai finally snapped. He pointed at Zhu Zhuqing and said, "You!"
Zhu Zhuqing turned and headed back to Shrek Academy. Dai Mubai, meanwhile, walked in the direction Ma Hongjun had gone. Jiang Huai and the others could only shake their heads before turning back to Shrek Academy.
Not long after, Jiang Huai, Gu Yue, Xiao Wu, and Tang San returned to Shrek Academy ahead of the others. They went back to their dorms to wash up and get ready for bed.
But the arguing outside caught Jiang Huai and Tang San's attention. They went out and found that Gu Yue and Xiao Wu had also come to see what was going on.
Dai Mubai was glaring angrily at Ning Rongrong. Ning Rongrong patted her own cheek and taunted him. "I'm so scared! You can't even handle a little girl, huh?"
Dai Mubai immediately released the pressure of his thirty-seventh-rank Soul Power. Ning Rongrong cried out and was sent flying.
Oscar caught her, or she would have hit the rocks behind her. But Ning Rongrong showed no gratitude and simply wrenched herself free of his hands.
Dai Mubai said angrily, "This is Shrek, not the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Other people may be afraid of you, but I'm not. If you keep acting out, I'll kill you."
His hands had already turned into tiger claws when Jiang Huai stepped forward and pressed down on his shoulder.
When Dai Mubai saw that Jiang Huai had come out, he withdrew his Martial Soul. Jiang Huai said gently, "Let it go. You're all classmates. You'll keep running into each other."
Dai Mubai took a deep breath and calmed himself. "Fine! Jiang Huai, I'll let it go for your sake."
With that, Dai Mubai left. Jiang Huai could only shake his head where he stood.
Ning Rongrong walked up to Jiang Huai. "Jiang Huai! Help me kill him, and I'll give you anything you want. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect can give you money and status."
Jiang Huai shook his head. "Not every problem can be solved with violence. If you think it can, then you still haven't figured out how to solve your own problems. If you keep putting yourself first, you should leave Shrek Academy. Gu Yue, Xiao Wu, Tang San, let's go back to bed."
Soon, only Oscar and Ning Rongrong remained. Oscar shook his head. "Ning Rongrong, we were from two different worlds from the start. So why did you come here? The way you live and your personality prove that you shouldn't have come to Shrek. You don't belong here. Leave."
With that, Oscar also left and went into the dormitory. He sat down to cultivate, deciding to try breaking through to rank thirty Soul Power.
