Background / History

Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village as Tang Hao's son. By age four, he had become close friends with Jiang Huai under Village Chief Jack's guidance; Tang San was reserved and self-contained, contrasting with Jiang Huai's more outgoing standing among the villagers 108.

At five, he saved Jiang Huai from falling into a cooking pot. Afterward, he regularly shared the wild herbs he gathered with the boy, and the two became inseparable 1. Tang San cultivated the Mysterious Heaven Technique daily on the village's back mountain and practiced the Purple Demon Eye from an early age 1.

At six, Tang San attended Holy Soul Village's martial-soul awakening after Jiang Huai persuaded Tang Hao to allow it. He awakened Blue Silver Grass, dismissed by Su Yuntao as a useless martial soul, but secretly manifested the lightning-wreathed Clear Sky Hammer in his left hand. He then tested as having Innate Full Soul Power 1 2.

Village Chief Jack secured an academy opportunity for Tang San and Jiang Huai. The pair entered Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy as work-study students in First Grade, Class 3; Tang San was assigned to Room 6 3 4.

Personality

Tang San is diligent, cautious, and observant. As a child, he devoted himself to cultivation rather than playing with other village children, and he usually responded to provocation with restraint rather than panic 1 2.

He is deeply loyal to Jiang Huai, whom he calls “Brother Huai,” and treats him as an elder brother despite their close age. Tang San consistently supports Jiang Huai in confrontations, warns him of threats, and publicly asserts Jiang Huai's position as Shrek's captain 10 32 50.

His later actions reveal a far harsher side. When permitted to pursue Yu Xiaogang, Tang San swore not to show mercy, led an assassination force into the Sivis Kingdom's military camp, and personally killed Yu Xiaogang 72. He also rejects the prospect of simply inheriting the Clear Sky Sect, preferring to establish a sect of his own 73 74.

Shrek Training and Tournament

He develops hidden weapons, receives sword intent from Chen Xin, gains his fourth soul ring and Blue Silver Cage, and awakens the Blue Silver King during Shrek's tournament campaign 13 33 36 40. Though he defeats Lin Wan'er, Feng Xiaotian eliminates him before facing Jiang Huai 50.

Separation, Return, and Yu Xiaogang's Death

After the tournament, Tang Hao takes Tang San away to train. Tang San eventually returns as a rank-50 Soul King; later, with Jiang Huai's approval, he leads a Supervision Group assassination mission and kills Yu Xiaogang 59 62 72.

Founding the Tang Sect
