Jiang Huai and Gu Yue soon discovered a river less than fifty meters from the camp. Jiang Huai used his spiritual power to investigate and discovered there were fish in the water, which meant there was more than just one.

Jiang Huai had Gu Yue wait on the bank to catch the fish, then he dove into the water. He began using his soul power to lock onto the school of fish, and soon, Gu Yue began catching them on the bank.

One, two... ten, eleven, twelve. Fish were constantly being tossed up from the water, and Gu Yue caught them using a woven basket.

Soon, they had enough for two fish per person, and Gu Yue and Jiang Huai returned to the camp.

The campfire was already lit. Dai Mubai and Tang San had hunted a Bloodthirsty Sharp-Toothed Pig, while Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong had gone to pick some fruit.

Everyone soon began the barbecue, with Jiang Huai and Liu Erlong taking charge of the cooking. Jiang Huai managed the heat for the roasted meat and fish, while Liu Erlong sprinkled on cumin and chili powder.

Before long, the entire camp was filled with the aroma of barbecue. The cumin and chili powder were things Jiang Huai always carried with him.

Ma Hongjun and Oscar returned, each carrying a bundle of firewood, and they added it to the fire.

Time passed quickly, and by nightfall, the roasted fish and meat were ready. Jiang Huai used a knife and fork to cut a pork chop and handed it to Gu Yue, who opened her mouth to take a bite and ate it with satisfaction.

Everyone began to busy themselves with eating. Jiang Huai sat by the campfire, eating the fish he had grilled himself.

Before long, it was time to sleep, and the task of keeping watch was handed to Flender and Qin Ming.

Jiang Huai and Gu Yue entered their tent, while Yu Xiaogang and Liu Erlong awkwardly entered the teacher's tent, and the others went into the large tent to sleep.

Jiang Huai hugged Gu Yue's waist from behind, and the two slowly drifted off into dreamland.

Late at night, just after Flender and Qin Ming had swapped shifts with Tang San and Dai Mubai, an explosion rang out.

Jiang Huai, disturbed from his sleep, rushed out in a rage, only to find Liu Erlong also storming out of her tent, equally furious.

They saw Dai Mubai leading a scorpion toward them. Jiang Huai and Liu Erlong exchanged a glance and attacked simultaneously.

The others were awakened by the commotion and walked out, only to witness Jiang Huai wielding his sword and Liu Erlong unleashing her Avatar to beat the Earth King to a pulp. In his rage, Jiang Huai sliced off the Earth King's right scorpion claw with a single strike.

Liu Erlong grabbed the Earth King's tail and delivered a brutal shoulder throw. Everyone watching couldn't bear to look and turned their heads away.

Jiang Huai punched the Earth King in the jaw, then struck its abdomen with his sword—striking, not slashing, mostly because he wanted to vent his anger.

The forest echoed with the sound of constant impacts. Dai Mubai felt a sense of remorse for having lured the Earth King over.

Dai Mubai hadn't known that their morning grumpiness could be so violent, and Liu Erlong was even more savage than the tigress he had imagined her to be.

Suddenly, Tang San shouted, "Duck!" Everyone else crouched down, but Dai Mubai turned around, resulting in him being covered in soot and giving a thumbs-up.

Liu Erlong furiously tore the Earth King to pieces, while Jiang Huai used his sword to hack off all of the Earth King's legs and claws.

Then, Liu Erlong tossed the Earth King into the air, and Jiang Huai kicked it on its left side.

The Earth King slammed into the ground, rolled forward, and collapsed, gasping its last breath. Jiang Huai and Liu Erlong landed side by side, and Jiang Huai said to Ma Hongjun, "Fatty, it's yours."

Hearing this, Ma Hongjun felt a chill down his spine. He looked up, but after seeing the terrifying glares from Liu Erlong and Jiang Huai, he immediately shrank back.

In the end, the Earth King was directly sacrificed to Ma Hongjun. Ma Hongjun was startled, but eventually sat cross-legged on the ground.

Liu Erlong looked at Jiang Huai and said, "Xiao Huai, well done. You have the style I had when I was young. Looking at you reminds me of my childhood. How about you be my son?"

Jiang Huai shook his head and said, "Sorry, I'm not interested. I'm going back to sleep. You guys keep watch here."

The night passed quickly, and a new day arrived. Jiang Huai walked out of his tent and let out a yawn.

The others slowly woke up as well. After Ma Hongjun finished absorbing his soul ring and adjusted his soul power, he went to wash up.

Jiang Huai took charge of the cooking and made a hearty breakfast. He gave everyone one of the burgers from his four soul skills.

It was a precaution, after all, some people wouldn't touch Oscar's skills.

Soon, everyone finished breakfast and set off to find the soul rings the others needed.

Flender, Liu Erlong, and Qin Ming were in the lead, Dai Mubai and Jiang Huai were on either side of Yu Xiaogang, and Ning Rongrong and Oscar were protected in the middle by the others.

Gu Yue walked behind Jiang Huai, occasionally holding his hand or asking him to carry her on his back.

Oscar asked Ma Hongjun what it felt like to absorb a fourth soul ring, and Ma Hongjun told Oscar that he should just absorb one casually.

Upon hearing this, Oscar's face darkened, and he slapped Ma Hongjun across the face, cursing him as a dead fatty.

Suddenly, a red mist rose up around them, and everyone became alert. Jiang Huai drew the Jinxu Longyuan Sword, scanning the surroundings.

Flender, Liu Erlong, and Qin Ming all summoned their martial souls, and the others prepared themselves to fend off any sudden attacks.

Jiang Huai sneered upon hearing this, "Just a few scorpions, watch how Gu Yue and I slaughter them all."

Gu Yue tilted her chin toward Jiang Huai, and the two charged into the red mist to begin the slaughter.

Liu Erlong, unable to sit still and watch, also activated her Avatar and charged in to join the massacre.

The leader of the Pink Ladies, the Pink Lady, was shocked to see this. Weren't humans supposed to be afraid of entering unknown places!

At this moment, Jiang Huai was already standing before the Pink Lady, and Gu Yue slowly appeared by his side.

In no time at all, the Pink Lady's scorpion pincers and legs were all severed, leaving only its tail as Jiang Huai dragged it back to let Oscar deliver the final blow.
