Background / History

The God Realm was created by the original Creator God, who later became five seeds: Goodness, Evil, Life, Destruction, and Asura. These seeds developed into the five supreme God Kings. Goodness and Evil represent thought and emotion; Life and Destruction form the world's foundation; Asura reconciles order between them. Creation and order are described as the God Realm's core principles. 48 97

Following the Dragon God Rebellion, the God Realm strictly sealed the path by which lower-realm soul beasts could become gods, seeking to prevent the rise of another God Beast capable of challenging divine rule. 22

The emergence of the Sky Screen and the Pokémon World threatens the God Realm's interests: its rewards can grant world origin and divinity, create new gods, and potentially expand or form new Divine Realms. The God Realm initially tries to prevent Pokémon World contenders from claiming these rewards, including by supporting lower-realm inheritances. 21 22

Major Events

Intervention through inheritances

After Giratina's appearance and the threat posed by Sky Screen rewards, the Asura God and Angel God intervene through Martial Soul Hall's inheritance system. The Angel God grants divine power and missions to Qian Daoliu and other elders because direct descent is restricted. 22 23

Lu Feng later disrupts the Angel inheritance, prevents the Angel God from stripping its followers' power, and forcibly turns the process into the Angel Nine Trials. Qian Renxue inherits the Angel God position and pledges allegiance to Lu Feng; Giratina then removes Martial Soul Hall's core structures and members from Martial Soul City. The God Realm interprets this as a direct challenge to its inheritance system and authority. 40 41 42

Pursuit of Groudon's Divine Domain

Groudon's expandable Earth Divine Domain is recognized as the possible foundation of a new God Realm. The five God Kings consider altering their own descent rules to seize and analyze it. 48

The attempt fails: the Sky Screen repels and erases the Asura God's direct attack, while the Sea God's agents are annihilated by Groudon. Groudon subsequently destroys Sea God Island, severely damages the Sea God's true body, and severs the Sea God's Divine Domain. 49 51

Opening access to the God Realm

Supplementary Sky Screen rules allow outsiders to enter the God Realm's outer area and collect Law Fragments. Severe injuries result in removal rather than death. Soul beasts, sects, and independent forces enter to seek blessings and weaken Groudon's influence. 51 52

The God Realm's gods regard this change as making their realm a “lawless land” independent of its normal system, while Law Fragments tempt even its own deities. 52

War with the Firmament Divine Realm

Rayquaza's Firmament Divine Realm spreads across the sky of the Douluo Plane, rewrites regional sky laws, and erodes toward the space near the God Realm. 87

After Rayquaza kills three intervening second-tier deities, the God Realm Committee sends the Asura God, God of Destruction, and Goddess of Life to confront it, while Goodness and Evil remain behind to guard the God Realm. 88 89

The three God Kings exploit the resistance Rayquaza experiences while trying to expand into the God Realm. Rayquaza instead defeats Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, causing their domains to merge with its own into the Heaven-Earth-Sea Tri-Element Domain. Groudon and Kyogre accept Rayquaza's leadership, shifting the confrontation in favor of the Pokémon World. 90 93 94

Life and Destruction fuse temporarily into a God of Creation, whose Power of Creation suppresses the three divine beasts and severs their connection to the Tri-Element Domain. The Superpower Divine Realm then descends, and Mewtwo disrupts the fusion with Psychic attacks, forcing the God Kings to retreat. 97 98 99

God King reincarnation strategy

Unable to overcome the opposing Divine Realms by force, Goodness and Evil propose sending a God King-derived avatar into the lower realm to compete under the Sky Screen's rules, gain resources, and study or counter-erode the rival system from within. 100

The Asura God uses Tang San as the vessel for this plan. Tang San inherits the Asura God position and memories, while the Asura God takes control of his body to rebuild a God King vessel. 101

Tang San later becomes a Level 1 God and receives a medium-sized Divine Domain, which manifests as the Asura Divine Domain. The God Realm Committee responds by forcibly conscripting Divine Officials and deities to enter the Douluo Plane, guide soul masters, distribute Law Fragments, and search for successors. 109 110

Asura Divine Domain Crisis

The Asura Divine Domain is a blood-red realm of cracked black plains, dark-red mist, devouring soul bodies, and an Asura Blood Sea surrounding an empty skull-throne platform. 110

Its Law Fragments mutate martial souls and intensify aggression among spirit masters. Fratricide, Evil Soul Master activity, civil war, and the collapse of order spread across the Douluo Continent; the Asura God gains power from the resulting evil thoughts and killing intent. 111 112

The God Realm's personnel fail to purify or contain this influence. Its deployed deities are also vulnerable within the domain, including a second-tier god killed by Mega Evolution Gengar. 111 112
