Yan confronts Xu Yuan over Dormitory 404 and threatens consequences if he refuses to move. He attacks with Flame Lord possession, but Xu Yuan fires a Railgun through Yan's shoulder, leaving him severely injured. 15

Second Duel with Xu Yuan

Seeking to regain face, Yan challenges Xu Yuan again and requests a restriction on auxiliary items and Silver Soul Coins. Xu Yuan uses water elements to turn Yan's Hell Lava Rush into a steam trap, then defeats him with a Thunder Curtain. 25 26 27

Origin Team

Five years later, Yan is a Level 39 Power Attack System Spirit Master and one of the seven members of Xu Yuan's Origin Team. 50 He remains volatile during the team’s visit to Heaven Dou Royal Academy, but Xu Yuan defuses the situation and reassures him that Hu Liena cares about him. 53

Yan faces Xu Yuan in an arranged Origin Team internal match. He activates Flame Boiling, only for Xu Yuan to counter his fire with water-element coverage; Yan collapses unconscious from the resulting heat and steam. 67 68

During the battle against Godwind Academy, Yan charges into the opposing formation while covered in lava, eliminating a team member through brute-force close combat and deterring enemies from approaching him. 110
