In his youth, Yue Guan and Gui Mei rescued a female soul master while carrying out a Martial Soul Hall mission. The woman developed feelings for Yue Guan, but he remained devoted to cultivation and continued his assignments with Gui Mei. She later followed the pair and was saved by Dugu Bo after being attacked by evil soul masters. Dugu Bo fell in love with her, but her feelings remained fixed on Yue Guan. 70

Dugu Bo challenged Yue Guan out of jealousy while Yue Guan and Gui Mei were pursuing an escaped evil soul master.
