Background / History

The Shazhou Team is one of the reincarnation teams operating in Main God Space. Its previous generation was wiped out during a trial, leaving the new generation under pressure to avoid the same fate. Fang Xiu became the new team’s first known captain after the initial trial, repaired the survivors’ injuries with his reward points, and began organizing them around mutual survival rather than their former social status or wealth 10 11.

Its original survivors included Fang Xiu, Tang Tian, Emir, Odubiao, and Haida. After the Hong Kong Ghost World trial, the team gained further survivors, including boxer John, psychic talent Ye Mei, and civil engineer Yuan Meng 37. The team’s rapid growth was also a liability: Fang Xiu’s exceptional strength and resources caused the Main God to scale trial difficulty upward for the entire squad 42.

During the Clover Beast trial, the team suffered severe attrition. Odubiao was killed after a Tri-Mutant Clover crushed his armored body, while the surviving members relied on Fang Xiu’s battlefield control and one another’s specialized roles to endure 60. The loss prompted the remaining veterans to consolidate into a six-person configuration built around distinct combat functions 74.

The team’s first formal team battle took place in The King of Fighters ’97 scenario against the Dongmei Zhou Team and Beibing Zhou Team. Shazhou used Lin Qi as bait, allowed the Asura Path to serve as a conspicuous combat front, and exploited Fang Xiu’s overwhelming psychic power to seize the early advantage 130 131. Its tournament forces later split into Shazhou Team One and Shazhou Team Two; Team One advanced by defeating the Korean Team, while Team Two forfeited against Fatal Fury 139 143.

After the team battle, Fang Xiu concluded that the gap between his own growth and the rest of the team had become too large. He departed to form the solo adventure group Evil Crown, leaving Emir as Shazhou’s captain and telling the remaining core members to experience Samsara at its true difficulty 154 155.

Abilities & Skills

Team Coordination and Formation Combat

The team develops from a captain-centered survival group into a squad with designated frontline, assassination, reconnaissance, psychic, and support roles.

  • Uses pre-battle meetings to establish members’ roles and assess trial-specific threats 47 74.
  • Can employ the Big Dipper Formation Map, a B-rank formation that becomes stronger when powerful members occupy its nodes 74 94.
  • Fang Xiu distributed Wave Dispersion Metal Plates and taught a Chakra-wave illusion method for emergency communication 74.
  • In the King of Fighters ’97 battle, the team deliberately used the Asura Path as a visible threat while Fang Xiu remained a concealed support and safety net 130 141.

Psychic Warfare

Psychic dominance became Shazhou’s defining advantage during its first team battle.

  • Fang Xiu’s psychic power overwhelmed the Dongmei Zhou and Beibing Zhou teams’ mental defenses and scouting attempts 131.
  • Ye Mei establishes private mental communication channels to limit intelligence leaks 130.
  • The Asura Path can channel Fang Xiu’s eye power and psychic strength, creating a misleading impression that it is the team’s primary psychic combatant 131 142.
  • This strength is heavily concentrated in Fang Xiu; other members struggle to match his growth or contribute at the same level in elite battles 147.

Frontline Assault

Shazhou’s frontline relies chiefly on Emir, supplemented by durable or high-speed specialists.

  • Emir combines werewolf traits with Space Marine organ implants, power armor, a shoulder-mounted plasma weapon, and a double-edged great axe 42.
  • Emir later develops Buddhist power through the Golden Bell Shield, a golden Buddha, and the copied Immovable Wisdom King Art 94.
  • John uses Silver Saint Seiya enhancement, Substitute Space bombardment, a Sandevistan, and Gene Lock bursts for extreme speed and close combat 74.
  • Tang Tian contributes Spider-Man-derived versatility alongside technology-based reconnaissance and control 94 154.

Assassination and Precision Elimination

Haida fills the team’s dedicated high-burst assassination role.

  • Her Pure Intermediate Eldar Bloodline grants enhanced coordination, balance, reflexes, energy circulation, psychic potential, and the Path of the Warrior 42.
  • She fights with graceful, highly efficient movements capable of killing elite monsters with precise strikes 60.
  • She can sacrifice part of her soul to transform into an Eldar Devil warrior for power beyond her normal level; the process is painful but can be repaired by the Main God after survival 74.

Summons and Combat Puppets

The team’s later operations incorporate Fang Xiu’s Six Paths assets.

  • The Asura Path is a combat puppet controlled by a portion of Fang Xiu’s consciousness and armed with Rinnegan and Shikotsumyaku abilities 138.
  • The Asura Path serves as Shazhou Team One’s principal fighter during the Korean Team match, with Fang Xiu providing Chakra and psychic support 141 142.
  • Animal Path assets, including Benbaba, can supplement formations and tournament lineups 94 141.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Big Dipper Formation Map — B-rank formation tool that can function autonomously or draw greater power from multiple formation nodes 74 94.
  • Wave Dispersion Metal Plates — Short-term amplifiers for emitted energy fluctuations, used with Fang Xiu’s emergency communication technique 74.
  • Space Wolves Legion MKVI Power ArmorEmir’s armor, integrating monitoring, medical care, and life support systems 42.
  • Plasma Pistol / shoulder cannonEmir’s neural-linked weapon platform with automatic targeting and power adjustment 42.

  • B-grade sacrificial scroll — A second contingency item revealed alongside the hybrid buff scroll 136.

Relationships

  • Fang Xiu — Founding captain, primary combat pillar, and strategic leader until his departure; his strength both protected the team and distorted its trial difficulty 42 154.
  • Emir — Founding member, frontline second strongest, and Fang Xiu’s designated successor as captain 42 154.
  • Tang Tian — Veteran teammate and frequent coordinator; handles reconnaissance, technical support, and candid discussion within the group 47 94 130.
  • Haida — Veteran assassin whose independent enhancement path is respected by Fang Xiu and the team 42 74 94.
  • Ye Mei — Psychic support specialist and later vice-captain figure who recognizes she cannot keep pace with Fang Xiu’s growth 74 147.
  • New Women’s Fighters Team — Allied with Shazhou during the King of Fighters ’97 scenario; both groups consider remaining in that world after a tournament victory 134.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Formation and Early Trials

Fang Xiu becomes captain after the initial survival trial and establishes Shazhou as a mutual-support group. The team receives Main God Space guidance, healing, and its first roster introductions before beginning to specialize through enhancements 10 42.

Clover Beast Trial

The team faces an escalated fifteen-day mission requiring the survival of five Clover Beasts. Fang Xiu handles the main battlefield while the rest of the team performs evacuation, support, monster clearing, and desperate defensive actions. Odubiao’s death demonstrates that even heavily enhanced members remain vulnerable 47 51 60.

First Full-Team Cooperation

During the Pudu Cihang conflict, Shazhou assembles its available strength around the Big Dipper Formation Map. The operation is treated as both a rescue mission and preparation for a future team battle, since Fang Xiu recognizes he cannot carry the team indefinitely 94.

*The King of Fighters ’97* Team Battle

After meeting the prerequisites for team battle, Shazhou enters the King of Fighters ’97 setting against Dongmei Zhou and Beibing Zhou. It secures an early kill through psychic suppression, qualifies two tournament teams, defeats the Korean Team, and later eliminates key Beibing Zhou members to take the ranking lead 107 131 139 142 146.

Fang Xiu’s Departure

Fang Xiu leaves because Shazhou’s development has become too dependent on him. Emir assumes command, while the surviving core—Emir, Haida, Ye Mei, and Tang Tian—is left to continue under normal Samsara pressure rather than Fang Xiu’s protection 154 155.

Trivia

  • Shazhou Team is among the seventeen standard reincarnation teams named after ancient cities or regions; the Devil Team and Celestial Team are separate special teams 11.
  • The team’s previous generation was completely wiped out before Fang Xiu’s generation formed 10 128.
  • Fang Xiu’s unusual strength accelerated Shazhou’s growth but also caused the Main God to assign harsher trial worlds based on the team’s overall resources and combat power 42.
