At the order, Fugaku and the others attacked without hesitation.
They appeared in a flash, immediately hurling kunai, shuriken, and explosive kunai.
Everything flew toward Blackbeard himself. But just as before, the moment the weapons drew near, the pull of his power changed their course. They could barely threaten him.
Blackbeard was startled by the sudden attack. He'd thought the Marines had intervened and had nearly despaired.
But then he noticed that the people attacking him were dressed much like the Shichibukai who'd been standing in his way, and their abilities were similar too.
"You even brought your subordinates! Why go this far just to stop me?!"
Blackbeard was furious.
But he didn't take them seriously. With the Yami Yami no Mi unleashed at full power, ordinary subordinates were no match for him.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
However, Shisui and the others had been observing him for a while and had figured out how his ability worked. The Explosive Tags detonated just before the black fog could swallow them.
The explosions blasted several holes in the fog, but the surrounding darkness quickly filled them back in.
"Use Ninjutsu!"
Fugaku remained calm. Only after experiencing it firsthand did he realize how troublesome the black fog was.
But their mission wasn't to defeat the man. They only needed to hold him back—and there were plenty of ways to do that.
Shisui and Itachi quickly moved to Fugaku's side. Shisui formed Hand Seals so fast that most people could only see afterimages. In less than a second, he'd released his technique.
"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"
Shisui puffed out his chest, then exhaled a rapidly spinning gale that surged toward Blackbeard's position.
Wind Style worked much better against the black fog than Fire Release. It quickly carved a path through the darkness.
