"Rin."

Inside the Uchiha clan compound, Obito was sitting in his room, grinning foolishly at a photograph.

This photo was a group shot of Team Minato, though he had covered Kakashi's face with a piece of tape.

His eyes remained fixed on Nohara Rin, as if merely looking at her was enough to put him in a wonderful mood.

"Obito, you're home. Uh."

At that moment, a voice suddenly shattered his daydreams, instantly pulling him back to reality.

Obito was jolted out of his fantasy, and as he looked up, he saw a young man staring at him—and the photo in his hand—with a puzzled expression.

He remembered this boy; he was also a member of the Uchiha clan, though not a ninja.

"Hello, is there something you need?"

Obito immediately flipped the photo face down, his voice sounding slightly stiff as he asked.

Perhaps because his train of thought had been interrupted, or perhaps because his secret had been discovered, he felt somewhat annoyed and embarrassed.

"It's like this: someone asked me to tell you that you need to assemble for a mission in two days, so get yourself prepared."

The boy immediately looked away, realizing his own actions had been rude, and quickly stated his purpose.

"A mission?"

Obito was stunned for a moment before snapping back to his senses, shouting with excitement.

"Finally, I can go on a mission with... again! I've been so bored staying at home!"

Frontline troops rotated shifts; it was standard procedure, as even ninjas needed rest.

If you sheared a sheep but didn't even give it time to recover, you might as well have just kept the sheep itself.

However, Obito didn't particularly enjoy these rotations; even though war was painful, at least he could be with Rin.

Now that they were heading out again, how could he not be happy?

"Since you know now, I'll be taking my leave."

The Uchiha youth didn't quite understand why Obito was so worked up; wasn't war something everyone tried to avoid?

This guy, he couldn't be mentally ill, could he?

Still, he didn't say anything more, just nodded and prepared to get away from this weirdo.

"Wait, who asked you to come and notify me?"

Just as the boy was leaving, Obito suddenly asked out of curiosity.

"It was Haori," the boy replied directly after a moment's thought.

"That guy Haori?"

Obito frowned, and a serious problem suddenly dawned on him.

"Wait, how did he know I had a mission?"

"Because Haori went out with your teammate, so he asked me to pass the message along to you."

The boy didn't think much of it and just shrugged as he spoke.

"Oh right, it was that girl in the photo whose face you didn't cover with tape."

As soon as the words left his mouth, the boy noticed that Obito had turned completely red, which gave him quite a start.

He was now truly convinced that Obito must have some kind of serious illness!

Thinking this, he quickly and quietly slipped away from the spot; he didn't want to get tangled up with Obito.

Obito, meanwhile, paid no attention to the boy's departure, his hands clenched into fists and his breathing growing rapid.

"Uchiha Haori!"

"That's strange, why are my ears burning so much? Is someone cursing me?"

After seeing Nohara Rin off—which also served as a send-off for himself—Haori had walked her home before returning to the Uchiha compound.

He found it a bit odd that his ears had been burning all evening.

But he couldn't be bothered to dwell on such things; as long as he had enjoyed his night, that was enough.

"A persona, it really is a wonderful thing."

As he headed toward the Uchiha archives, Haori muttered to himself.

From the moment he entered the Ninja Academy, he had realized one thing.

To deal with this new scenario in the ninja world, he needed to develop new strategies, identify the public's pain points, and lay out a new path.

Ultimately, after much careful consideration, he knew what he had to do—build a good persona!

Take Namikaze Minato, for example; whenever people mentioned him, they immediately thought of words like "powerful" and "sunny."

When people mentioned the Uchiha, they thought of "beautiful," "strong," "tragic," as well as "crazy" and "maniacal laughter."

Haori had the "beauty" of an Uchiha, but the rest had little to do with him, and he didn't dare to be as high-profile as Namikaze Minato.

The persona he crafted for himself was very simple—someone trustworthy.

It must be said, this was a very wise choice.

Even if he had been backstabbed by the hawks, and even if the war had made his heart exceptionally cruel, it had no impact among the ninja ranks outside of the high-level leadership.

This earned him a great many friends; even if some were only fair-weather brothers, they could still sit down together and chat about everything from stealing erasers in elementary school to choosing a burial plot in their old age.

Except for that guy Obito.

Wait, could it be Obito cursing me?

Although he had his suspicions, Haori didn't have the energy to overthink it, as he had already arrived at the Uchiha archives.

After a round of inspections, he successfully made it inside and began searching through and flipping through the materials there.

Even though he had requested to come here before he obtained "Extraordinary," he would have come regardless.

The materials collected here regarding the application of the Sharingan were extremely important to him!

He had awakened his Sharingan early and used it frequently, which gave him a very solid foundation.

The problem was that he wasn't well-regarded before awakening it, and once he did, he was on the battlefield, leaving him no opportunity to properly study the relevant knowledge.

Now that he had the chance, he naturally had to make up for it.

With the supplementation and expansion provided by these materials, he could develop his eyes more perfectly, and the effects of using them would be even better.

It would also help him reach his limit faster, allowing him to level up directly!

"Still, there's too little information, and a lot of it is far too basic."

After finishing another set of notes, Haori felt satisfied, yet he still frowned.

The materials collected here were indeed somewhat sparse, with much of the information coming to an abrupt halt at the two-tomoe stage.

The content on the three-tomoe stage was pitifully scarce, let alone information on the Mangekyo.

"Did Uchiha Madara take it all with him when he left?"

At the thought of this possibility, Haori suddenly felt like he couldn't hold it together.

If you're going to leave, why not just burn it all down while you're at it?

Why perform such a precision strike, taking all the good stuff directly?

"Forget it, this will have to do; it's more than enough for me right now anyway."

Haori sighed helplessly. He had gained something tonight; at the very least, it was definitely enough for him as a two-tomoe user.

As for what came after, he would just have to explore it slowly on his own.

Thinking of this, Haori simply returned all the materials to their places.

However, as he passed by an inconspicuous bookshelf in the innermost part of the archives, his peripheral vision seemed to catch a scroll stored in the very depths of the shelf.

"What is this?"

Haori frowned. He first put the materials back, then walked over and pulled out the scroll.

The scroll was covered in dust, looking as if no one had touched it for a very, very long time.

Furthermore, there were no labels on the scroll; no one had any idea what it actually was.

Anyone else probably wouldn't have been interested in looking at such a thing, as those who came here all had their own specific goals.

But this actually piqued Haori's interest. He simply sat down on the spot and carefully opened the scroll.

Yet, when he saw the information inside, he was instantly stunned.

"The Ultimate Weapon of the Uchiha?"

"Uchiha Mumei?"

"What is this?"
