History
Qiuyue Valley legacy
Uchiha records referred to an “ultimate weapon” sealed away by the Senju. Haori's investigation connected this secret to the Qiuyue Valley operation, a century-old Senju- and Uzumaki-backed campaign that dealt a severe blow to the clan. The search ultimately uncovered the sealed Uchiha Mumei. 3 28 31 34
Factional collapse
Before Haori's takeover, the clan was divided between Uchiha Fugaku's dove faction and Uchiha Setsuna's hawks. Fugaku's side favored negotiation with Konoha, while Setsuna's supporters advocated forceful reclamation of Uchiha influence and the Hokage position. The dispute over Kakashi retaining Obito's Sharingan and Uchiha Yashiro's disappearance further destabilized the clan. 40 70
Haori initially received a system mission to overthrow Fugaku and become clan head. He used the factional conflict as an opening, planning to remove both the hawks and doves rather than support either side. 1 40
At Naka Shrine, Haori fought Fugaku after revealing his Mangekyō Sharingan. Hikari trapped Fugaku in Tsukuyomi, allowing Haori to kill him; Haori then framed Setsuna and Hisanobu through Shadow Clones. 73 He subsequently summoned the clan elites, subdued dissenters with his Mangekyō Sharingan, and eliminated the old leadership structure. 74
Reformation under Haori
Following the purge, lower-ranking members stabilized and sought Haori as their representative. The clan council recognized him as one of its most important figures. 79
Haori's rule transformed the clan's internal atmosphere. Resources became available to lower-ranking members, clan members were encouraged to see one another as family rather than factional rivals, and the Uchiha increasingly integrated with Konoha. 118 242
The clan took in Haku and Kimimaro after the Kirigakure operation, arranging for them to be adopted into Uchiha families. 103 195 Uchiha Itachi was later expelled after leading Root operatives into the clan compound to assassinate Haori. 150
Later prominence
The Uchiha strengthened their hold over the Konoha Military Police Force, with Uchiha Shin and Uchiha Shu promoted to senior posts. 142 By the time Haori was Hokage, the clan had passed a proposal to open its grounds to outsiders and had developed into a calmer, more village-integrated power. 189 249

Abilities & Skills
Sharingan
The Sharingan is the Uchiha's hereditary ocular bloodline and the foundation of the clan's combat reputation. Its insight allows users to perceive subtle traces and analyze opponents or techniques in exceptional detail. 3 31
- Haori used his Sharingan to identify the remnants of a seal at Qiuyue Valley and locate Mumei's coffin. 31
- The clan's ocular abilities are closely associated with Yin Release, which Haori trained to accelerate the growth of his eyes. 31 77
- The Sharingan can develop beyond the Three-Tomoe state, giving its users far greater power than the Hyuga's standard Byakugan. 247
Mangekyō Sharingan
Several Uchiha of Haori's era awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, breaking the usual scarcity of the evolved dōjutsu. Fugaku, Haori, Hikari, Shisui, and later Itachi all possessed Mangekyō-level eyes. 58 73 100 201
- Haori — possesses Kamunaobi, his innate Mangekyō ability; it continuously increases his power. 184
- Hikari — used Tsukuyomi to immobilize Fugaku and possesses Yachihoko, a powerful marking technique whose setup is difficult to apply in battle. 73 141
- Shisui — specializes in exceptionally dangerous genjutsu; his ocular ability can burn an enemy's spiritual power as fuel. 150
- Itachi — awakened Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi after being psychologically broken by Black Zetsu's manipulation. 201
Susanoo
Mangekyō users can manifest Susanoo, an armored chakra giant that became a defining symbol of the clan's military might.
- Haori and Hikari jointly deployed third-stage Susanoo forms against Iwagakure, causing Ōnoki to associate them with Uchiha Madara. 108
- Haori's third-stage Susanoo possessed overwhelming offense and defense but initially lacked mobility. 110
- Haori later advanced his Susanoo to a fifth stage capable of flight and massive destructive output. 136
- The appearance of Haori's winged Susanoo in Kirigakure significantly damaged enemy morale while rallying Konoha's allies. 162
Relationships
- Konohagakure — The clan is formally integrated into the village and manages the Konoha Military Police Force, though its earlier history was marked by distrust from Konoha's leadership. 111 142 242
- Senju Clan — Historic rivals; Senju-led forces participated in the Qiuyue Valley operation against the Uchiha. Haori later pursued the fusion of Uchiha Yin Release and Senju Yang Release. 28 166
- Uzumaki Clan — Former enemies of the Uchiha. Uzumaki historical records helped Haori uncover evidence concerning the Qiuyue Valley operation. 28
- Hyuga Clan — The Hyuga sought positions within the Konoha Military Police Force, while Haori accepted Hyuga Neji as his disciple. 111 193
- Root and Shimura Danzō — Hostile. Danzō supported efforts to eliminate the clan and later sent Root operatives with Itachi to assassinate Haori. 97 150
- Akatsuki — Hostile. Obito sought allies to destroy the Uchiha, while later conflicts involved Akatsuki directly opposing Haori and Konoha. 97 162
Trivia
- Haori, Hikari, and Shisui adopted the identities of Uchiha Madara, Uchiha Izuna, and Uchiha Shimada during the war with Kumogakure and Iwagakure. 142
- Their impersonations were convincing enough that Konoha and other villages considered the possibility that Madara and his associates had returned from another world or the future. 145
- The clan's former elitism was explicitly rejected under Haori: members were taught that the clan should be proud of their names, rather than members being proud merely to carry the Uchiha surname. 242
