Time Flew By

After obtaining those ninjutsu, Sasuke's strength began to grow by leaps and bounds. Of course, that rapid growth came with the passage of time.

Four years had passed since the Night of the Uchiha Massacre. Sasuke had smoothly advanced from his fifth year at the Ninja Academy to his sixth. In another year, he would graduate.

But Sasuke cared more about improving his strength than graduating. Over the past four years, he had used the Shadow Clone Technique to train himself every moment he could.

Heaven never let those who worked hard down. That saying held true in the ninja world too—especially for Sasuke, who had the Proficiency System. For him, it was even more evident!

As he'd grown older, Sasuke had changed into the outfit he wore when he first appeared in the original story. He didn't know why he still dressed that way. Maybe it made him look cool!

And what was the point of looking cool? Obviously, it was to attract the girls. For instance, Haruno Sakura was sitting next to Sasuke, unable to tear her eyes away from him. Ino was in the front row, turning around to look at him more than a dozen times during class. But Sasuke wasn't interested in either of them. Why? Because the one attending class right now was Sasuke's Shadow Clone!

If it had been Sasuke's real body, that might have been another story. As long as they didn't interfere with his plans, he might have chatted with them. But if they did get in his way, Sasuke would probably gain another 1,000 General Proficiency.

After all, a Genin was worth 500 General Proficiency. These two were sure to graduate from the Ninja Academy and become Genin, so they could naturally provide Sasuke with 1,000 General Proficiency!

"All right, that's it for today. You're on break now. Make sure you keep training during the break, or you won't graduate!"

While Sasuke was still listening to the lesson with his eyes closed, Iruka finally announced the break.

As soon as Iruka announced it, Sasuke stood up to leave. He could max out all the proficiencies he'd been working on today!

"Sasuke, come fight me!"

Sasuke hadn't even made it out of the classroom when Uzumaki Naruto caught up with him.

Sasuke turned to look at Naruto, who had recovered completely from the beating Sasuke had given him just yesterday. He couldn't help feeling envious.

A Sage Body and the Nine-Tails—his recovery was practically absurd!

"Not interested."

Sasuke shook his head sadly at Naruto's challenge, then hurried home.

"Baka... Baka!"

Naruto was indignant that Sasuke had refused his challenge.

"Naruto, did you forget what happened on this day four years ago?"

Just as Naruto was about to chase after him, Shikamaru held him back and spoke gravely.

"You mean...?"

Naruto suddenly understood. He turned to look at Shikamaru's resolute expression, and immediately calmed down.

"He's probably in a bad mood today. Let him have some time alone." Watching Sasuke's retreating figure, Shikamaru spoke with a helpless sigh.

"Sasuke-kun..." Sakura and Ino heard Shikamaru's words and remembered what had happened four years ago. They silently prayed for him.

If the original Uchiha Sasuke had been here, he probably wouldn't have been in a good mood today. But for the current Sasuke, today was wonderful.

Over the past four years, aside from improving his proficiencies, Sasuke had spent his remaining time training his mind. More than anything, he had worked to weaken the body's attachment to Uchiha Itachi and its thirst for revenge.

Sasuke still wanted to wipe out the families of the Anbu, Root, and Konoha High Command. But it was no longer about revenge. It was a matter of responsibility. He had crossed into this world for no reason and taken someone else's body; it wouldn't be right not to avenge him.

Besides, in Sasuke's eyes, those people were all walking sources of General Proficiency!

The moment he got home, Sasuke headed down to the basement. It had become a maze of passages over the past four years. While one of his Shadow Clones trained in Lightning Release Chakra Nature Transformation, another had managed to connect the tunnels beneath the Uchiha Clan Compound.

After traveling through the long underground passage, Sasuke arrived beneath Naka Shrine. This was where his Shadow Clones trained.

As soon as he got back, Sasuke dispelled his Shadow Clone. He had already realized while in class that he'd completed his final training goal.

Sasuke opened the panel and looked at his basic attributes. Nothing surprised him, though he was pleased to see his Chakra had increased from Jonin to Elite Jonin.

Every increase in his Chakra gave Sasuke a special fusion opportunity. He had gotten four in total: at Genin, Chunin, Jonin, and Elite Jonin levels. He had used two to fuse the Kurama Clan's Kekkei Genkai and Scorch Release. That left two opportunities, and he could use one of them. He absolutely had to save the last one for when he evolved the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Otherwise, he'd have to rely on himself.

As for gaining another special fusion opportunity, Sasuke didn't think it would happen anytime soon. It had taken him nearly four years to go from Jonin to Elite Jonin in Chakra. He had no idea how long it would take to reach the Kage level from Elite Jonin. It was safer to keep one special fusion opportunity in reserve.

General:

[Body Flicker Technique: 1000/1000]

Only these two remained on the General Panel. The rest had been transferred to the Fusion Panel since their proficiencies were maxed out.

Taijutsu:

[Strong Whirlwind Style: 3000/3000]

This was the result of fusing Konoha Whirlwind, Konoha Gale, Konoha Rising Wind, Konoha Great Whirlwind, Konoha Strong Whirlwind, and various other Taijutsu techniques. Sasuke wasn't among the very best at Taijutsu yet, but he was no novice either.

The disappointing part was that Sasuke still hadn't learned a single Wind Release Ninjutsu. The only one he'd obtained before, Daitoppa, had been used to fuse Scorch Release.

He knew plenty of Fire Release Ninjutsu, but they had all been moved to the Fusion Panel. As for Lightning Release and Water Release Ninjutsu, he had maxed out his Nature Transformation proficiency in both, but still hadn't learned any techniques of those types.

Scorch Release:

[Dragon Flame: 1000/1000]

[Wind-Flame Sword: 1000/1000]

Since he had maxed out his Nature Transformation proficiency, it no longer appeared on the panel. The Wind-Flame Sword was a sword technique created by fusing the Uchiha Clan's Sword Leap Flame and Gale Sword. It really was a Scorch Release sword technique, just as he'd expected. The only awkward part was that Sasuke didn't have a sword that could withstand the Wind-Flame Sword's heat.

Four years flew by in the blink of an eye; Sasuke had made a terrifying leap in strength!
