Kakashi touched the Sharingan in his left eye, unable to help reminiscing. If not for Obito, he probably wouldn't have earned the name he had today!
"I see!"
Watching Kakashi sink into his memories, Sasuke began to think things over. If Kakashi knew Obito was still alive, would that help with his plans? Could he use Obito's identity to take back Kakashi's Sharingan?
"All right, let's go!"
Kakashi had been interrupted by Sasuke during the meeting. Clutching the scroll, he hurried toward Naruto and the others. After all, the mission was already over.
After a long while, Kakashi brought Sasuke over to Naruto's group. They arrived just in time to see Naruto and Morino Idate sitting together, chatting and laughing, while Sakura watched them with an exasperated look.
"Sasuke, you're back..." As soon as she saw them, Sakura hurried over to ask Sasuke how he was doing. Kakashi was left speechless. He was her teacher, after all. Couldn't she at least ask how he was?
"Morino Idate, come with us. Your brother is waiting for you!"
Kakashi walked over to Naruto and calmly looked at Morino Idate, whose spirits seemed to sink at his arrival. Kakashi felt a little cruel, but this was what the mission required. He didn't know what punishment Idate would receive; he was only carrying out his mission.
"Okay..."
To Kakashi's surprise, Morino Idate fell silent for a moment after hearing him, then agreed. Kakashi was a little taken aback.
"Hey, Sakura, get ready to leave!" Once Morino Idate agreed to return to Konoha, Kakashi turned to Sakura, who was still peppering Sasuke with questions. He pursed his lips helplessly. Were girls these days really so shameless?

At Kakashi's words, Sakura finally gave up on questioning Sasuke.
I'm saved! Sasuke thought as Sakura walked away, then followed the group.
After two days on the road, they finally made it back to Konoha. Because of the unusual nature of the mission, Kakashi took the four of them straight to the Hokage's office to report and hand it over.
"...That's more or less what happened. Aoi Rokushō disappeared with the Sword of the Thunder God, but we recovered the scroll." Kakashi gave the entire report while Sasuke and the others waited quietly.
"As long as you recovered the scroll, that's what matters. The mission is over. Take a few days to rest."
After hearing Kakashi's report, Sarutobi Hiruzen smiled and nodded at them. The Sword of the Thunder God was only a special ninja tool, and Aoi Rokushō had managed to offend two ninja villages at once. He would probably spend the rest of his life hiding from them.
"Then we'll take our leave!"
At Sarutobi Hiruzen's words, Kakashi led Team 7 out of the Hokage's office. Only the Morino brothers remained; the rest of it had nothing to do with Team 7 anymore.
"First, congratulations on completing your first B-Rank Mission. You can relax for three days now!"
After they had walked some distance from the Hokage's office, Kakashi announced the news to the three of them.
"Yahoo!"
Hearing they had time off, Naruto leaped with excitement. It was the first time they'd had a break in half a month!
"Rest is good, but I still have to remind you not to let your guard down. A ninja's missions are dangerous, so you need to work hard to improve your strength. You might not be so lucky next time!"
Listening to Naruto's cries, Kakashi pursed his lips helplessly and gave them another warning. The three of them weren't even close in strength. He hoped Naruto and Sakura would train hard. He didn't expect them to catch up to Sasuke, but at least they could narrow the gap a little!

Naruto answered Kakashi's lecture with drooping shoulders. Sakura lowered her head, while Sasuke didn't react at all.
"All right, I hereby disband Team 7. We'll meet again in three days!"

After they parted ways, Sasuke headed straight home. He wanted to check out his spoils. The Land of Waves arc should be coming up next, so he needed to speed a few things up.
After Sasuke left, Sakura sighed helplessly and went home too. Before long, only the somewhat dejected Naruto remained. Kakashi had already disappeared.
Once he was home, the first thing Sasuke did was open his inventory. He used all eight Chunin Crystals, and 8,000 General Proficiency points were added immediately.
After using the Chunin Crystals, Sasuke finally turned his attention to the item he cared about most this time: the Sword of the Thunder God.

After Shenlian, the Sword of the Thunder God had become a golden hilt. It looked pretty cool, but it hadn't turned into a spiritual weapon. After all, it had only been Tobirama Senju's sword. Everyone knew Tobirama Senju specialized in Water Release, not Lightning Release, so he couldn't possibly have had a lightning-attributed spiritual weapon. Besides, spiritual weapons were all connected to the Sage of Six Paths or Kaguya Otsutsuki in some way.
"Even if it's a little disappointing, being able to fuse it is still awesome!" Looking at the golden hilt in his inventory, Sasuke's lips curled up. He wasn't entirely satisfied with this haul, but the other rewards were quite substantial!

While Sasuke slept, news of Team 7's exploits spread quickly among the new students. It was rare for rookies to complete a B-Rank Mission. Even Team 3, which had graduated successfully last year, hadn't taken on a B-Rank Mission yet!
For a while, Team 7 became the coolest kids in Konoha's rookie class. There was no helping it: while everyone else was still pulling weeds and catching cats, Team 7 had already completed a B-Rank Mission. That was the difference between them. Soon, Team 7 had become the model students everyone's parents held up as an example!
Ino was the one with the most to say about this, after all, she and Sakura had grown up together.
Overnight, everyone knew their names. Some rejoiced; others despaired!
