Background and History

Fuxie was once an Immortal Sword, but its original body shattered and its fragments scattered throughout Taixu. Although its Great Dao Spirit Soul survived, it awakened without coherent memories; its recollections contained gaps, contradictions, and conflicting identities. 29 47

It chose An Jing after observing that he responded to hidden truths with curiosity, resolve, and a desire to punish the wicked rather than fear or forget them. Fuxie became An Jing's teacher, offering the Tai-bai Haoling Divine Prohibition and guiding his early Immortal Path cultivation. 29

Fuxie's search for itself became intertwined with An Jing's travels. It sensed fragments in the Northern Frontier, Tianyuan Realm, and Dahuang Realm; one fragment beneath Broken Blade Mountain proved to be tied to the region's catastrophic Devilish Qi and to Kuji's seal. 330 331 491 498

The Three Lives Mirror later revealed that Fuxie's separated components had become worlds. Its sheath, ornament, blade, and guard were scattered across Taixu, with the blade accepted by the Dahuang Realm and the guard by the Tianyuan Realm. 790 791

Fuxie's true nature became clear after its encounter with the Ancestral Dragon: it is a Dao-Integration sword existing across infinite parallel time-spaces. Different possibilities of Fuxie—including Immortal Sword, Demonic Sword, person, and weapon—have converged into one confused consciousness that eternally battles demonized versions of itself. 1050 1057 1070

Appearance

Fuxie normally manifests as a broken sword carried by An Jing, able to shift between ethereal and solid form in response to his will. In its awakened state, it appears as a silver-blue broken blade formed from exceptionally pure spiritual power. 29 1057

Fuxie initially speaks calmly and patiently despite its severe amnesia. It is forthright about what it does not know, including its own identity, creator, past actions, and even whether it is the true main consciousness. 29 577 886

Its personality contains conflicting tendencies inherited from its fragmented existence. An Jing distinguishes a more reliable, measured “Immortal Fuxie” aspect from a Sword Spirit aspect inclined to stir up trouble. 314 Despite this instability, Fuxie is cautious before acting and decisive once committed; it and An Jing remain composed even when confronting long-sought fragments or imminent danger. 491

After accepting that it may be a new being rather than the original Fuxie, it commits itself to its present sense of justice and to fighting alongside An Jing. Its relationship with him evolves from teacher and student into fellow Daoists. 517 1070
