Had a first-year already joined the Student Council? Kiyotaka silently watched the two of them, gleaning whatever useful information he could.
Manabu Horikita glanced at Tachibana, then said calmly,
"The Student Council can have two vice presidents. Besides Miyabi Nagumo, isn't there another position open? I remember the Student Council President has the authority to appoint a vice president."
Manabu's presence and words left Tachibana too intimidated to speak. She could only glare at Kiyotaka in frustration.
Kiyotaka noticed her gaze, but paid it no mind. He slowly raised a hand and said,
"Sorry to interrupt. Thank you for the offer, but I'll have to decline. Joining the Student Council would surely mean dealing with a lot of trouble, wouldn't it? Unfortunately, I'm the sort of person who hates trouble."
Manabu's expression didn't change at all, as if he'd expected this outcome.
"I see. What a shame. My offer stands indefinitely. You're welcome to come find me anytime."
With that, he left in the direction Kiyotaka had come from.
Kiyotaka glanced after him, then took the elevator back to his room. As soon as he got inside, he turned on the air conditioner. Feeling the cool air wash over him, he finally let out a long breath.
Once his body had cooled down, Kiyotaka went into the bathroom to shower. But just as he'd wet himself, someone knocked hard on his door. He assumed it was Sudo and the others.
He sighed helplessly, wrapped a towel around himself, and went to answer.
To his surprise, Ibuki stood outside. Kiyotaka stared at her in surprise.
"What are you doing here?"
Ibuki rolled her eyes at him.
"Didn't you tell me I had to come to your room every day?"
With that, she walked into Kiyotaka's room carrying a bag.
Since Ibuki was already inside, Kiyotaka didn't say anything. He simply shut the door.
"You've got guts, coming to my room with people going in and out. Aren't you afraid Ryuen will find out?"
"Then don't make requests like that! Don't worry, I'm careful."
"Fine. Make yourself comfortable. I was about to shower, so I'll get back to it."
Kiyotaka ignored Ibuki and went back into the bathroom to continue showering.
When Ibuki saw him disappear into the bathroom, she looked at the bag she'd brought. After hesitating for a moment, she picked it up.
A little while later, Kiyotaka was in the shower when the bathroom door opened. He turned around and froze.
"What are you doing now?"
Kiyotaka stared at Ibuki, bewildered.
Ibuki had never felt so embarrassed. Her face was bright red as she heard his question, and she snapped like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
"Didn't you say I looked good in a maid outfit? Who knew wearing this thing would be so uncomfortable? I'm going crazy!"
Ibuki was wearing a black-and-white maid outfit. The dress clung tightly to her body and restricted her movements, while its long skirt forced her to walk carefully so she wouldn't trip. She considered those problems secondary. Most importantly, who could tell her why the outfit was strapless?
A thin layer of fabric barely covered her, and it shifted awkwardly whenever she moved, making her feel as if everyone could see her.
Though it was a long skirt, she felt a draft beneath it that gave her a strange sensation. She couldn't quite figure out what was wrong.
Seeing Ibuki's disheveled appearance, Kiyotaka couldn't stop the corners of his mouth from lifting slightly.
"You're quite an ill-fitting maid."
At those words, Ibuki flew into a rage and glared at Kiyotaka.
"What are you laughing at? Are you going to keep this up?"
Kiyotaka narrowed his eyes, pulled Ibuki beneath the showerhead, and let the maid outfit gradually grow damp and cling to her.
He lifted her chin and spoke softly.
"You're getting a little carried away, aren't you?"
"S-sorry."
Kiyotaka's words struck Ibuki like a thunderbolt. She froze, then immediately apologized, as meek as a lamb.
"I'm not blaming you. It's just that people who talk back to me usually get punished."
As he spoke, Kiyotaka reached out to touch the skin Ibuki had exposed. With a light tug, the flimsy fabric came loose, and he drew her close.
"Mm..."
Ibuki felt Kiyotaka's warm hands on her, and though cold water was running over her, her body seemed to grow hotter by the second.
A soft breath escaped Ibuki's lips. In a daze, she sought out Kiyotaka's mouth, like a traveler who had wandered for days and finally found water.
She kissed him hungrily, their tongues moving together as they made soft, wet sounds.
Ibuki's outfit was completely soaked, leaving her figure faintly visible beneath the fabric. The damp clothes felt uncomfortable, but she no longer had time to think about them. She felt as if a blazing fire burned inside her, and her legs began to rub together of their own accord.
She pulled away from Kiyotaka, turned around, and leaned against the sink, her voice full of embarrassment.
"Kiyotaka..."
Kiyotaka lifted the hem of her skirt out of the way, then suddenly gave her a strange look.
"Ibuki, what kind of outfit did you buy?"
"Hmm?"
Still dazed, Ibuki couldn't make out his question and gave a vague reply.
The outfit was strange indeed. A section of the area that should have been covered was cut out, so Kiyotaka didn't need to undo the complicated fastenings to reach her.
In an instant, Ibuki felt overwhelmed. She clenched her fists at the intense sensation.
She gripped the sink as tightly as she could to keep herself from falling.
Soft cries filled the bathroom, and a heady atmosphere settled over it.
Ibuki lost track of how many times she had collapsed and struggled back to her feet. At last, as the heat seemed to spread through her, she let out a high cry, and it was over.
Only then did Ibuki have time to take off the complicated outfit. When she saw the opening beneath the skirt, she finally understood what Kiyotaka had meant.
"I... I didn't know."
So embarrassed she wanted to crawl into the ground, Ibuki could barely get the words out.
"It's fine. It's pretty good. You look very different from usual. It's an interesting change."
Kiyotaka teased Ibuki, who had curled up shyly off to the side.
Fortunately, Ibuki had a strong constitution. After collecting herself, she went over to the showerhead and rinsed off, then dutifully helped Kiyotaka wash. He relaxed and let her take care of him. He'd seen what she'd done, so he didn't push her any further and simply finished his shower.
After putting on fresh clothes, Ibuki felt as if she'd come back to life. She looked at Kiyotaka, went to the kitchen to pour him a glass of water, and finally brought up the real reason she'd come.
"Ryuen figured out all the VIPs, but someone in Class C refused to accept his violent rule and pulled a stunt. That's why things have turned out like this."
"They still got two hundred points even after pulling a stunt? Interesting..."

Chapter 57: Going Out with Karuizawa
In the end, Kiyotaka still couldn't avoid going out.
In the scorching height of summer, he thought people should stay inside under the air conditioning and enjoy the cool breeze. He still couldn't understand why anyone would choose to wander around outside beneath the blazing sun.
So when Karuizawa's name lit up on his phone, he hung up without hesitation.
But persistence might as well have been Karuizawa's middle name. After she called again and again, Kiyotaka could only answer when the phone rang once more.
"Hello?"
Kiyotaka tried to sound as lifeless as possible, hoping to tell Karuizawa without words that he was tired. But she seemed to have lost the ability to read between the lines and chirped excitedly,
"Ayanokoji, come out with me!"
Silence. A dead silence. Kiyotaka didn't even want to breathe.
"Hello? Ayanokoji, are you there?"
"I'm saying, it's really hot, you know?"
"Why do you live like you're some old man in his seventies or eighties? Going out more is good for your health..."
Before Karuizawa could finish, Kiyotaka hung up. He turned off his phone and stuffed it under his pillow.
He thought that would make Karuizawa give up, but he'd underestimated her persistence.
"Bang, bang, bang."
A loud knocking sounded at the door. Kiyotaka didn't want to answer it. He had a feeling whoever was on the other side had come with bad intentions.
"Ayanokoji! Open up! I know you're in there!"
As if she knew what he was thinking, Karuizawa shouted while continuing to pound on the door.
Kiyotaka sighed helplessly, dragged himself over to it, and reluctantly opened the door.
"So you finally decided to open it!"
"I think I might have to just take you down right here so you can't drag me outside."
Kiyotaka looked at Karuizawa's energetic expression and spoke thoughtfully.
Karuizawa's expression faltered at his words, but she pressed on regardless.
"Come out with me, please? I'm so bored, and Shinohara and the others are busy."
After Karuizawa wore him down, Kiyotaka reluctantly changed clothes and went out with her.
When they got downstairs, Kiyotaka stared at the ground, which shimmered with heat under the sun, and asked Karuizawa expressionlessly,
"Can I change my mind?"
"Please? Just come with me. We can stay inside the mall as much as possible and avoid going outside, okay?"
Karuizawa looked at Kiyotaka with her hands clasped in a pleading gesture.
Kiyotaka stared at her for a long time before finally walking out.
Inside the mall, Kiyotaka seemed to come back to life. Karuizawa looked at him curiously.
"I thought you were just making excuses. I didn't realize you really hated the heat that much. I've never seen you look so down before."
"Really? I think I'm usually pretty down. There isn't much reason to be happy, after all."
"That's just your usual expressionless face."
Karuizawa teased him, then led him from shop to shop. From small accessories to large appliances, the two of them browsed almost the entire mall.
"Ahh, there's so much I want to buy. What should I do?"
"You're about to be rich, so what are you hesitating for?"
Kiyotaka glanced at Karuizawa.
And it was true. Thanks to escaping successfully during the Ship Exam, Karuizawa had earned a million points. Calling her rich was hardly an exaggeration.
"But think about how hard things were for us at the beginning. Now I keep hesitating, worried something might happen and I'll need points, but won't have enough."
So someone used to living paycheck to paycheck could still feel anxious and possessive after suddenly receiving a fortune.
Kiyotaka understood how Karuizawa felt, so he said,
"Class D's points are gradually increasing too. You could put some aside every month as a reserve. You shouldn't put too much pressure on yourself."
"That's a good idea. I'll do that! Otherwise, seeing all those points and not being able to spend them would drive me crazy."
Karuizawa was the most fashionable girl in the class. Besides her school uniform, she constantly bought new clothes and bags, and cosmetics were another major expense.
Inspired by the idea, Karuizawa immediately brightened. She looked at Kiyotaka and said,
Before you continue
