Underground Base Research Laboratory.

In Dean Bo Li's office, the transparent glass display cabinets were packed with all kinds of documents. Though the desk was tidy, numerous paper files were still stacked neatly upon it.

Dean Bo Li wore round glasses perched on the bridge of his nose. Four deep wrinkles creased his brow as he lowered his head, holding an open file in his hands. His scrutinizing gaze lifted toward the two people before him.

The blinds had been drawn, light filtering through them in upward-reflecting streaks. The office was steeped in the grave silence before an explosion.

Bang!!! Doctor Jenny's face was icy, fury blazing from her eyes as she fiercely slammed her pale, slender palm onto the desk. The neatly arranged documents on the desk seemed to jump in fright, trembling all at once.

"Enough! Slade, you have no right to stop us."

Doctor Jenny's anger flared like that of an enraged mother leopard, her eyes glaring furiously at Slade.

Doctor Jenny advocated performing the operation herself, using focused magnetic pulse fields to connect to Ba Di's spinal cord at the back of his neck and temporarily cut off the sensation, movement, and reflexes of his limbs.

That way, Ba Di could sit in a wheelchair without posing any threat and help them explain various technologies.

After some time, once he had truly earned their trust, he could undergo rehabilitation training and live and move like a normal person. There was nothing wrong with that.

Yet Slade had forcefully refused on the grounds that he was the Underground Base's defense chief. He insisted that Ba Di's Hand and Foot Tendons had to be severed extensively before he could leave the White Room where he was imprisoned.

Slade sat in his chair with a composed, hardened face, his spine straight in the standard posture of a soldier.

"I am the defense chief here. I have every right to guard this alien. No accidents can be allowed."

Slade's words were forceful. Doctor Jenny had grown far too close to Ba Di and cared far too much about this alien. For an object of research, she had invested too much emotion. It was inevitable that she would begin to take the alien's side and do things that created security risks.

Slade had no doubt about Ba Di's level of danger. Though he had never seen Ba Di make a move, the imprisoned alien still gave him a heart-pounding sense of intimidation through his keen instinct for danger.

Whether Ba Di was asleep or awake, Slade constantly felt that he was like an unwilling king of beasts, head lowered as he radiated danger like a sovereign domain.

If he had to describe it, it was like the Pirate King at his execution. Even with his hands shackled and his head hanging low, his seemingly disheveled hair concealed an absolute, unyielding will and a spirit that soared into the heavens, leaving people shaken and terrified.

Ba Di had hidden all of that deeply, but Slade's keen senses had still detected a hint or two. He regarded him as a monstrous threat and never dared to let his guard down or underestimate this alien.

Slade was unfamiliar with Doctor Jenny's proposed method. He only knew the methods he was familiar with.

Therefore, only the simple and brutal method he believed in—severing Ba Di's Hand and Foot Tendons to restrict his movement—could guarantee safety.

"Doctor Jenny's intention is to have the alien live peacefully with us. If we treat him too cruelly, he may refuse to help us research technology. Doctor Jenny spent so long persuading him to agree to explain technological problems to us; we cannot make him too disheartened. Using magnetic pulse radiofrequency blockage to temporarily sever the sensation, movement, and reflexes of his limbs can also ensure our safety and let us feel at ease about him. In the future, once he earns our trust, perhaps he could even start a family with Doctor Jenny and become one of humanity." Dean Bo Li explained Doctor Jenny's intentions to Slade, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. When he looked at Doctor Jenny, his gaze held a faint, gratified smile, as though he was reassured that a child had found where she belonged.

Doctor Jenny's anger was eased somewhat by Dean Bo Li's words, though her beautiful, cold face remained stern.

Dean Bo Li saw it clearly.

All of this was for Jenny herself and Ba Di, for the two of them to have a good ending in the future.

This time, Slade glared and snapped coldly, "Doctor Jenny, have you gone stupid from doing research? He is an alien. You have fallen in love with an alien, want him to be free, and even want to start a family with him. I have to say, you are so obsessed with biology that you have gone mad."

"Wishful thinking. He can only remain imprisoned here forever. Do you think General Vick will let this alien go? Do you think human society can tolerate a monster like this? This alien beast?"

Hearing Slade insult the man she loved like that, Doctor Jenny's anger, which had only just subsided, surged again.

She snatched the file from Dean Bo Li's hands and, with a smack, slapped it against Slade's military uniform over his chest. She rebuked him coldly, "General Vick has already agreed. I will perform this operation on Ba Di and implant pulse radiofrequency blocking steel needles into the back of his neck to remove his threat."

As she said this, Jenny could not help but ache for her lover. Ba Di merely wanted to find a peaceful place to live, to live with her in this beautiful world, basking in the sunlight, greeting the moonlit glow, and walking hand in hand toward their future. Why did he have to suffer this kind of pain?

Blocking his Spinal Nerve so that his limbs could not move was already excessive enough, yet Slade still forcefully demanded that Ba Di's Hand and Foot Tendons be cut, intending to turn him into a cripple.

It truly made Jenny burn with rage!

Jenny could no longer suppress her fury. Bloodshot veins rose in her reddened eyes, and her beautiful, cold face twisted as she roared, "SLADE WILSON!!! You are nothing but a beast wrapped in human flesh. You have no value at all. Every breath of oxygen you inhale on Earth wastes the life of this planet."

"Ba Di can provide us with technological knowledge spanning hundreds of years, transform the world, and advance Earth's technological evolution!"

"Ba Di can help us study his biological samples and genes, making humanity greater. He possesses countless biological treasures!"

"Ba Di can help us understand the entire starry universe, step out into space, and comprehend the vastness of the cosmos!"

"SLADE WILSON!!! Compared to Ba Di, you are utterly worthless. You are like mud stuck to the sole of a shoe, doing nothing but obstructing everything and disgusting everyone."

"I have already reported all of this to General Vick, and General Vick has approved it all."

"COLONEL SLADE! CARRY OUT THE ORDER!!"

"YOU! CANNOT! REFUSE!"

Jenny's roaring fury poured forth like a rushing flood. Her uninterrupted shouts shook the air in the room until it trembled.

She drew a deep breath. Her flushed face remained cold and beautiful as she cast an icy sidelong glance at Slade. The unquestionable determination in her expression made Colonel Slade's face change.

Slade picked up the file that had fallen onto his thigh and began reading it. After only a dozen seconds or so, his fingers stiffened as they pressed hard against it, bending the pages beneath his grip. His face became exceptionally ugly.

He felt as though a savage beast was about to stroll out of its cage and begin slaughtering.

Ba Miu Luo Di!

This alien was absolutely not as simple as he appeared.

Jenny snorted coldly, her eyes sweeping frostily over Slade. She walked out of the office and headed for the White Room where Ba Di was imprisoned to tell him the good news.

After Jenny left the office.

Slade's fingers relaxed from their stiffness. He closed the file, his expression returning to normal as he continued sitting with his spine straight. He said calmly, "I will leave the rest to you, Dean Bo Li."
