Things He Would Regret in the Future
It was still Fifth Avenue. The black SUV drove slowly through the flow of traffic. Cars of all colors and styles passed by it, either being left behind or overtaking it.
The streets on both sides were brightly lit by streetlights, bustling with pedestrians, laughing and joking, while towering buildings stretched endlessly, their signs and advertisements adorned with colorful neon lights in front of each shop, the lights reflecting the splendor of this most famous city in the world.
Inside the train carriage.
No one knew that such a simple decision would lead to saving the world.
This is truly hilarious for Ba Di.
He never intended to save the world, but now, for his own sake, he has to play the hero and risk his life to save the world and seal the projection of a Demon Lord.
It's just because I have an incredibly strong will and a unique soul that I might be able to do it, but who can say for sure?
This made him angry at his own weakness, and at the same time, he craved power even more, constantly yearning to become strong so that he would be free from any threat.
Danger has always been a constant companion to him, ever since he first arrived on Krypton.
Whenever he felt powerless and helpless, his heart would turn into a ferocious madness. His anger at his own weakness drove him to do things beyond his own capabilities and his genetic talents.
Just like the revolution on Krypton back then, no one knows how much Ba Di has borne and endured for himself, or how crazy his will is that drives him to do all this.
He never complained about anyone or anything, never complained about God or anything else for arranging this kind of life for himself. All he felt was that he was tormented and driven mad, using everything he had to keep climbing relentlessly and recklessly toward that supreme throne of power, preferring death to stopping.
He wants to control the stars, dominate the universe, and have everything at his feet.
No one should be allowed to control their own life.
Now, the Trigon Projection, which will take control of his life in a week, drives him to a frenzy.
Once again, someone has threatened my life!
This feeling twisted his resentment and drove him to a frantic urge to tear Trigon apart.
When you know there is someone who can easily crush you, and you are forced to face him, anyone would go crazy—whether it's crazy fear, crazy resentment, crazy resistance, or crazy desire to tear him apart and kill him.
A chilly wind blew in through the car window. Ba Di turned his head to look out the window, where colorful recruitment neon lights flickered before his eyes. He sat there, motionless, like a stone, staring out the window. His rugged face, as if sculpted from marble, took on a magnificent, resolute, and fearless air under the flashing neon lights.
Raven turned her head slightly to look at Ba Di's profile, her eyes filled with curiosity. She had a unique sensitivity to emotions and could even absorb the emotional power of others for her own use.
She could sense that this man was tormenting and whipping her from within.
He tormented himself, whipped himself, and steadfastly moved forward on the path he wanted to take.
Raven could even sense that as long as Ba Di stopped for a moment, he would be very happy and joyful, living in an ocean of happiness; even just Ba Di's smile was enough to give people a captivating charm.
If he stops, he will be the sunshine, he will be hope, he will give light to others, he will lead others forward, he will be a pioneer, he will be a lighthouse in life, illuminating everything.
But he doesn't seem to intend to stop; his unwavering will leads him on his path.
Behind his back, in his heart, lies immense pain and sorrow.
Raven felt a slight chill in his heart, suddenly realizing that Ba Di had a past of absolute suffering, unknown to outsiders, which shaped his current personality.
Raven's thin lips were a strange dark purple. She parted her lips slightly, preparing to communicate with Ba Di about strategies, plans, and the extent of Ba Di's power. If possible, she even wanted to understand Ba Di's inner pain.
Because she felt that the two of them might have something in common, and that she also had her own pain.
Her mother, her masters, and everyone in the Azarath Sanctuary died because of her, because of her own father Trigon. This despair, pain, and grief carried her through her lingering life, but she could not even feel despair or sorrow, because excessive emotions would cause the seal to collapse.
This made her even more miserable and desperate.
Looking at Ba Di, as if they shared the same pain and despair, brought her a little peace of mind.
Just as her thin, dark purple lips were about to open.
suddenly.
A gurgling sound came from her lower abdomen, which was particularly jarring in the wind-blown carriage, where only the sound of the wind could be heard.
The Raven closed its thin, dark purple lips and unconsciously pressed its hands to its abdomen.
That's the sound of a hungry stomach.
In an instant, she lost all interest in admiring Ba Di's profile. Instead, she straightened her posture, her thin, dark purple lips pressed tightly together, looking very solemn, as if the gurgling sound from just now hadn't come from her body.
The gurgling sound brought Ba Di back to his senses. Mike, driving the SUV, felt a sense of unease. Could demons be hungry? What did they eat? Humans? Mike pondered as he drove.
Ba Di closed the car window and looked at the Raven.
Raven's pale face, her thin body even more dignified than before, her back straight, made her look like a well-educated young lady.
"I sealed off most of the energy reactions, causing the energy to stop supplying the cells, and the body needs to ingest food to maintain its nutrition."
Raven spoke solemnly, his back ramrod straight.
Despite the rumbling sounds from her stomach, she showed no sign of embarrassment or blushing; she simply maintained a solemn expression and earnestly described her body's reactions.
Simply put, you're hungry and need food.
Then, after saying those words, his stomach rumbled a second time.
Raven's expression grew even more serious. He pressed his hands firmly against his stomach, causing it to sink deep into the fabric of his cloak. His thin, dark purple lips were tightly pursed, and his expression was solemn.
Some were even gritting their teeth.
This is incredibly shameful and disgraceful for a young girl!
She even had an urge to immediately break the seal, provide energy to the body, and stop it from crying out.
Ba Di chuckled, surprised that even a half-demon like Raven would go hungry.
His insane desire to tear the Trigon apart immediately subsided and calmed down.
"Mike, go get some food," Ba Di said.
Mike paused for a moment, then asked hesitantly, "Eat... in the car?"
Ba Di gave a curt "Mm." Mike fell silent. He nodded, took a pair of sunglasses from the glove compartment under the dashboard, put them on, found a parking space on the side of the road, parked the SUV, and got out of the driver's seat to find food for the Raven.
The Raven didn't show any embarrassment on its face, but its fingers, hidden under its cloak, dug deeply into its belly.
After Mike left, only Ba Di and Raven were left in the car, and the atmosphere was somewhat awkward. Raven made two more "clucking" sounds, making Raven feel like dying.
Her expression grew increasingly serious, and she straightened her gaze, no longer daring to look at Ba Di.
This is so embarrassing.
Next, Ba Di did something he would regret for decades to come, something that connected him to the Raven and remained connected ever since.
He took out a square chocolate wrapped in gold foil from the storage box and gently placed it on Raven's lap, even inadvertently touching Raven's lap, which had a cool, leather-like feel.
Ba Di didn't feel anything, but Raven's thigh twitched.
"Have some chocolate first."
Ba Di said, without any particularly amused expression, just showing his kind concern.
Because he sensed that Raven was not only half a demon, but also a human girl with the emotions of a human girl, which she suppressed.
Raven nodded, quickly opened the gold foil packaging, bit down with her dark purple lips, and quickly chewed the chocolate with her snow-white teeth. The sweet chocolate melted in her mouth, and the warmth flowed down her throat.
At that moment, she felt the deliciousness of the chocolate imprinted on her heart.
She had never tasted anything like it before, a bittersweet aroma that flowed smoothly down her throat, through her body, and into her stomach.
"Thank you, it's very sweet."
The Raven's serious expression softened a bit, and it stopped pressing its belly so hard, even savoring the taste of the chocolate.
A silence returned to the carriage.
Raven even felt a bit flustered and at a loss, a strange feeling she had never experienced before, but she suppressed it and continued to sit upright in her chair.
Raven only breathed a slight sigh of relief after Mike returned, but at the same time, she was completely bewildered.
Mike opened the back door, grabbed a heavily made-up, scantily clad blonde woman who was clearly a prostitute, and shoved her into Raven's seat, placing her on Raven's lap.
Then he closed the car door, turned his back to it, took out a custom-made top-grade Cuba cigar from his suit, chopped off the end, took out a lighter, lit it, and took a deep drag.
"I never imagined that our boss had a penchant for watching demons dine!"
Mike sighed, puffing out smoke under the streetlights, looking up at the twinkling stars in the night sky, a hint of melancholy in his expression, a sense of knowing more about his boss's peculiar hobby.
It turns out that besides liking to expose his body to the sun and having a fondness for the color white, the boss also has a penchant for watching demons dine.
Inside the train carriage.
Raven stared blankly, bewildered. She glanced at the blonde woman lying on her lap and could smell the cheap, unpleasant perfume emanating from her.
The Raven was especially confused and bewildered.
What's going on?
She exchanged a bewildered glance with Ba Di, clearly confused by this sudden turn of events.
Ba Di looked puzzled. Why did Mike bring someone back instead of getting some food?
"Mike, what is this?"
Ba Di called Mike was facing away from the car door, looking up at the night sky with a sigh and exhaling smoke.
"Food! Don't demons suck blood, eat internal organs, or even souls?"
Mike replied matter-of-factly, though he was also puzzled by his boss's question. This was just a normal meal for the devils, there was nothing wrong with it!
He walked two blocks before finding a lone prostitute, knocked her unconscious, and brought her over to his boss's new friend for food.
The Raven's face darkened. "I don't eat people."
Mike was stunned for a moment before realizing he had made a mistake. He quickly apologized, grabbed the prostitute, and got out of the car, then ran off to buy some regular food.
But Ba Di was deeply concerned that Mike's superpowers might have caused a problem with his intelligence. Why did Mike seem so much less intelligent? When Mike returned carrying pizza, hamburgers, and takeout steaks, along with other quick meals...
He had a strong feeling that he might have offended the boss and was going to be punished by him.
When he returned, he saw that the parking space was empty.
Where did the car go?
