In Progress
Emperor Tower.
The ninth basement level, the Kryptonite Energy mechanical engine room.
This is a research lab that uses Kryptonite as an energy source to power interstellar spaceships, so naturally, there is Kryptonite here.
With a full beard and a rugged yet somewhat wild and weathered appearance, Captain La Jin resembled Wolverine to some extent. However, he possessed a greater sense of contradiction between his thoughtful gaze and weathered features, much like a wild beast or wolf, his eyes sparkling with contemplation.
Next to him is Jie Mi, a young man who is so desperate to make a name for himself that he's willing to risk his life.
At this moment, the two were standing at the door, dressed in specially made black anti- Kryptonite radiation trench coats, looking imposing and upright as they guarded the entrance.
Simply put, it means to guard.
Since the Space Base incident, the two were rescued by Ba Di, which can be considered as making a great contribution. Ba Di saw that Captain La Jin was capable and Teammate Jie Mi was hardworking and loyal, so he temporarily transferred them to deal with the invasion of superhumans to gain some credit, in order to promote and give them important positions after the incident was completed.
"We... we've been promoted to guards."
However, Jie Mi looked gloomy, his tall figure looked somber, and he sighed. He didn't understand what Ba Di was thinking. He just felt that he had risked his life to escape the Space Base and send a message to Earth, and that he had finally accomplished a great feat.
But his current treatment—from a scout to a guard—and the reward, which was completely inconsistent with his great achievements, left him feeling depressed and sullen.
"This is just the beginning!"
Captain La Jin tugged at his black trench coat; the texture was smooth to the touch, befitting its protective function against Kryptonite. This result was not bad for him.
Because he just wanted to live a lazy, peaceful, and ordinary life.
Ideally, life would be completely peaceful, without any turmoil; that would be perfect.
So, being a guard, working nine to five every day, is actually a kind of enjoyment for Captain La Jin.
However, it's obvious that his outstanding talent has caught His Majesty's eye. Alas, things will be tough from now on. He'll have to bear the heavy responsibilities of conquering the Earth, and the handsomeness and wit that shouldn't be his age. It's so tiring!! Teammate Jie Mi is different. I really envy him.
There's no way around it; I'm just too good for my own good! With great power comes great responsibility!
A faint hint of smug melancholy flashed across Captain La Jin's bearded face, and his chest unconsciously straightened a little more.
Jie Mi's melancholy face snapped to attention, and he exclaimed, "Captain, do you know something inside information?!"
Captain La Jin nodded, his bushy beard and beast-like face gleaming with wisdom. He deliberately spoke in a deep, husky voice, because that would make the viewers feel that their wisdom was as profound as the ocean.
Jie Mi's teammates must always maintain an attitude of respect, admiration, and reverence towards him.
"Jie Mi, you've been too careless. Our primary role was reconnaissance, with a reconnaissance range far beyond your imagination. We can extract personnel records from the surface of the Emperor Tower and track personnel movements within the established system. If you had observed carefully, and given our presence here now, you would have discovered..."
Captain La Jin's eyes narrowed slightly, then snapped open, his breath coming in heavy gasps, his expression solemn and stern.
The air was quiet and silent.
A slight chill permeated the air.
The incandescent bulbs shone brightly, illuminating the nearby metal corridor.
The metal corridor was deep and quiet, and there were even fewer people around today.
The atmosphere inexplicably became tense.
The tense atmosphere even gripped Jie Mi's team, their eyes narrowing involuntarily, their breaths held as they stared at the wise Captain La Jin.
"His Majesty is not in the building!"
Captain La Jin spoke in a deep, solemn voice, sounding extremely tense that an ordinary emperor was not in the building, as if some major event had occurred.
In fact, this is true. From the slightest clues, Captain La Jin could see a lot and most of His Majesty's settings, but it felt inappropriate to say it out loud, so he could only hint at it in this way.
But it's clear that Jie Mi's way of thinking is very different from Captain La Jin's.
Jie Mi paused for a moment, his face twitched, and he looked at Captain La Jin with a strange expression.
"Captain, are you pretending to be deep?"
Jie Mi's teammates showed no mercy in exposing their captain's pretense.
His Majesty's absence is visible to everyone in the Emperor Tower; is there any need to mention it? Jie Mi, the team member, is neither blind nor deaf; how could he not know that His Majesty was out?
This can also be used as an excuse for Captain La Jin to act profound, leaving Jie Mi speechless.
Do I look like a pretentious person?
Captain La Jin was very dissatisfied. Damn it, he was stupid for not paying more attention and thinking more, and now he's blaming him for showing off? After being exposed for showing off, Captain La Jin wished he could turn back time and not rescue this guy from the Space Base, but just let him die there.
Especially when Jie Mi, the teammate, looked at him with a strange expression, not answering at all, without even thinking.
That appearance seemed to say, "It's like it."
"His Majesty said to invite someone else into the house to deal with him!"
Captain La Jin suppressed his dissatisfaction and calmly quoted His Majesty's famous saying again.
These words were spoken.
really.
Jie Mi's expression changed; he no longer thought La Jin was being pretentious, because such a profound and thought-provoking quote must have been said by His Majesty.
After saying that, Jie Mi's intelligence suddenly soared.
"So, in reality, His Majesty's absence gave the rebels an opportunity to enter the Emperor Tower..."
As Jie Mi spoke, his eyes widened, his mouth agape in astonishment.
Captain La Jin nodded, revealing an expression of aptitude for teaching, and gently stroked his beard, awaiting Jie Mi's next praise.
Jie Mi suddenly turned around, his eyes fixed on the door behind him, and he finally understood everything Captain La Jin had said.
Jie Mi exclaimed in amazement, "Your Majesty... is truly wise."
Letting your hometown be invaded by the enemy and wiped out in one fell swoop is truly a way to solve the problem once and for all.
Jie Mi and his team members couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of awe and admiration for His Majesty.
Captain La Jin's face froze, and he looked helplessly at Jie Mi, who was lost in his wild thoughts.
Jie Mi's team had absolutely no intention of praising their superior for discovering such a groundbreaking event, knowing that such matters were simply not something they, in their position, should know.
They were simply following orders, standing guard at the gate, awaiting further instructions.
It's estimated that within the Emperor Tower, only two or three people would know or be able to guess this, among whom is myself, possessing a wit and handsomeness beyond my years.
However... despite being so handsome and witty, I didn't receive any praise.
Captain La Jin was annoyed; it was I who discovered it...
Not long after.
'Beep beep...'
The two men's watch communicators rang.
Captain La Jin and team member Jie Mi raised their hands, their expressions tightened, they exchanged a glance, and without continuing their conversation, quietly guarded the entrance.
Just a few minutes later, an elderly researcher wearing glasses walked down the quiet steel corridor and came to them.
When the researcher wanted to enter the Kryptonite Energy mechanical engine room.
Jie Mi stepped forward, his movements incredibly swift, transforming him into a ferocious beast. With his hands wide open, he grabbed the elderly researcher who had no time to react, snapping his neck and killing him instantly.
At this moment, the elderly researcher's body slowly began to deform, transforming into a white woman in Jie Mi's team's hands.
The Emperor Tower, a quiet back entrance on one side.
Luther squinted, puffed on his cigar, and pondered in silence, without looking at the Emperor Tower again.
A large truck drove up from the corner and stopped in front of Luther.
Death Knell jumped out of the driver's seat and opened the back of the truck.
He brought a gorilla to Luther.
"Long time no see, Luther."
