Hope Fulfilled
Jonathan Kent is Superman's adoptive father, and he was supposed to be.
However, due to the existence of Ba Di, twelve years ago, during the conflict between Earth and Jor-El, there was a battle.
Jor-El preferred to sacrifice Superman's foster mother rather than miss an opportunity to let his son escape. In the end, he did not rescind the order, allowing Jonathan Kent's wife to die in the Super Light Speed vortex and be completely pulverized.
After the incident, Ba Di said that if Bati could follow him and serve him, he would grant his wife resurrection when he was able to dominate the universe and reverse time.
Ba Di gave him hope, and for twelve long years he clung to that one tiny glimmer of hope so that he wouldn't have to die with his wife.
However, in reality, ever since that day when he followed Ba Di's back as if following a ray of hope, he had never truly seen or faced Ba Di Ba Di.
Sometimes, he would think about it.
He must have been crazy to believe that someone could reverse time and save his wife.
But this was his only hope of survival, and he constantly fantasized that back then, Ba Di's silhouette truly possessed the power of hope to bring his wife back to life.
Deep in his heart, he clung to this sliver of hope, fearing that if such a great figure Ba Di were to utter a word of helplessness, all his strength would vanish, leaving him with no strength left to live in this world.
He desperately hoped that Ba Di would become powerful enough to shatter the universe, reverse time, and fulfill his humble wish to resurrect his wife.
Therefore, I can do whatever I want.
Diamond Moon.
The moon shimmered with a crystalline glow, magnificent and captivating. Formations of soldiers, in orderly ranks, patrolled and led the new recruits.
On the crystalline surface of the moon, a series of lunar military bases are set up, with square barracks built of steel.
In a two-person lieutenant officer's quarters, the metal was cold and quiet, the items were arranged in an orderly manner, and the air was filled with a heavy silence and sorrow.
Jonathan Kent's face resembled that of a thirty-year-old man. He had undergone genetic modification and was originally over forty years old, but now he looked no more than thirty. He was not much different from when Ba Di met him twelve years ago.
At this moment, he sat on the gray bedding, leaning against the cold metal wall, his palm open, gazing with deep affection and painful longing at the pocket watch in his hand. Inside was a color photograph of his wife, Martha, their wedding photo taken together.
Almost every day, he looked at the photos and missed, longed for, and painfully recalled his wife Martha.
If that baby hadn't been taken in, the separation between the living and the dead wouldn't have happened.
He felt an intense hatred for that white dog, that beast that was willing to sacrifice his wife and let his son escape.
No matter what, he refused to stop, which resulted in Martha being tragically crushed by the Super Light Speed vortex.
They clearly meant well by taking them in, so why would they do something like this, causing their own wife to die?
Thinking of this, Jonathan Kent's strong body curled up, clutching the pocket watch tightly in his hand, tears streaming down his face.
Not long after.
'Chirp...'
The sound of the door opening came from inside.
It was Jonathan's other second lieutenant roommate, Shanks.
In an instant, Jonathan's tears vanished like smoke, his face turned cold, his eyes were deep and cold, and he put away all his emotions and sorrow.
He straightened his curled-up body, got out of bed, and began to put on his shoes and military uniform, preparing to lead a patrol.
"Ah... Jonathan, hurry up and get out of here, General Otto is looking for you."
Shanks looked exhausted, yawned, and couldn't lift his eyelids to look at Jonathan. After saying this, he lay down on his bed without even taking off his shoes and started snoring.
Leading patrols wasn't tiring; what was tiring was having to fight a group of new recruits in a virtual combat room afterward, which greatly drained his energy and left him exhausted.
Jonathan was about to ask General Otto what he wanted when he saw Shanks already snoring soundly, so he didn't wake him to ask.
Jonathan went straight out.
First, he went to the camp room to adjust the patrol schedule and the virtual training schedule for new recruits. Only after that did he head to the main command room.
"Press harder, didn't you eat?"
On the way, a sergeant was leading new recruits, pressing an alien to the ground and rubbing it against the surface of the moon.
That spot was exactly where Mongul's guard had spat.
After Ba Di dealt with Mongul, General Otto dragged out the arrogant and conceited Mongul guard, pinned him to the moon, licked up all the phlegm he had spat out, and rubbed him on the moon.
But that's not all.
He was convicted of disrespecting His Majesty and, with the permission of General Otto Ba Di, was sentenced to thirty years in prison to wash the earth with his face every day. Every day, a special soldier would hold his face down and rub him against the entire moon.
Jonathan and several officers nodded in acknowledgment. They glanced at the aliens who were still being rubbed against the moon, a pang of pity flashed through their hearts, and without saying anything more, they left and headed to the main combat operations room.
"Jonathan, lay down your affairs and return to Earth. His Majesty summons you."
"Um?"
Jonathan was puzzled, his heart almost skipped a beat, and he asked General Otto with a flustered heartbeat, but General Otto didn't know the specifics of the matter either, he only knew that Jonathan needed to go back to Earth.
Jonathan stepped onto the teleporter with a feeling of unease, worry, fear, and panic.
He was thinking about it almost every second.
Is it because I am too ordinary, too incompetent, and therefore unworthy of having my wife resurrected?
Despite his desperate efforts and all his abilities, he became a soldier and warrior under Ba Di's command, fighting in the legion.
But he was really just an ordinary person, with no special skills, intelligence, or ability. Even his position as a second lieutenant was something he earned through seniority.
He had never done anything great for Ba Di, and he was not entitled to anything! In an instant, Jonathan felt panic and despair.
When he was brought before Ba Di, his face was filled with even more grief.
He really didn't want to hear Ba Di say that he was too mediocre to be worthy of saving his wife.
"His Majesty..."
Jonathan knelt down, head bowed, his body trembling, his heart filled with extreme panic.
Ba Di's face remained indifferent as he looked at Jonathan kneeling before him, a faint warmth flickering across his eyes.
"Jonathan, you have served me for twelve years."
"However, your abilities are mediocre, you have no special skills, and in the vast sea of people, you are nothing more than a lowly soldier. Both your superiors and what I have observed show that you are mediocre."
"I have hundreds of millions of people like you under my command."
Jonathan's body trembled even more. This mediocre lieutenant almost burst into tears as he kowtowed heavily to Ba Di: "Your Majesty, I will do anything you ask! Please don't abandon me, don't abandon my wife's resurrection."
His tears, like beans, dripped onto the ground, reflecting his sorrowful and painful face.
You're overthinking it. I don't care about your mediocrity.
"I see your efforts, your faith in me, and your unwavering hope."
"I have seen you, an ordinary person, fight for your life, sweat, lose limbs, and bleed under my command."
"Since you are willing to dedicate twelve years of loyalty and effort, and to believe in me so desperately."
"So..."
"Your wife is waiting for you in Ward 35, Special Ward, Metropolis Central Hospital."
Jonathan froze, staring wide-eyed as he looked up at Ba Di's imposing face, which shone brightly. The dark gold cloak of his Emperor Armor exuded an endless, domineering aura that was breathtaking.
At this moment, Ba Di smiled, and in his eyes, it was like seeing a reincarnated Skyfather, making the blood in his body surge wildly.
"Don't worry, this is the real you, your wife, not some genetically engineered creation that looks similar."
Your wish has been fulfilled!
