Background / History

Kamuro enters Advanced Nurturing High School as a Class 1-A student. On the first day, Aoyama Shiki recognizes her as an exceptionally capable classmate: she is the strongest athlete among the girls, mentally mature, and able to lie without changing her expression. She accepts his invitation to lunch, beginning their long-running association despite immediately finding his behavior irritating 1 2.

Although she was academically successful in middle school, Kamuro ranks near the bottom of Class A academically. Learning that failing examinations can result in expulsion, she begins attending study sessions with Aoyama and Yamamura Miki; Aoyama later tutors her directly 6 10 31.

Kamuro has a history of stealing for stimulation. She regards the habit as something she had tried to leave behind, but is later caught shoplifting beer by Hashimoto Masayoshi. Rather than abandon Aoyama, she offers Hashimoto two million private points for his silence, allowing Aoyama and Katsuragi to expose Hashimoto’s attempted blackmail 11 34.

She eventually reveals that she had no friends in the past and that her parents were indifferent toward her. Aoyama’s promise to attend university with her and Yamamura makes her feel valued and strengthens her attachment to them 61.

Personality

Kamuro is blunt, proud, and emotionally direct. She speaks without honorific restraint, does not conceal when she dislikes someone, and frequently responds to Aoyama’s provocations with cold stares, insults, or physical retaliation such as pinching his waist 2 35. Her apparent arrogance does not prevent her from functioning well with others; she can communicate effectively and carries out assigned work even when visibly displeased 14.

Beneath her detached exterior, Kamuro is attentive and protective toward people she considers hers. She looks after Yamamura despite their personality differences, objects to unnecessarily expelling Hashimoto, and stands up for Aoyama when others criticize him 20 33 83. She also becomes visibly jealous when Aoyama gives Yamamura affection or attention 78 129.

Kamuro values independence. When Aoyama confesses to her, she agrees to become his girlfriend only with conditions intended to preserve that independence 113.
