How Class Points Work
- Class Points belong to a class, while Private Points are distributed to its students for spending. One Class Point corresponds to 100 Private Points per student per month: Kitagawa Ryo describes a loss of 300 Class Points as a loss of 30,000 Private Points per person each month 69.
- Class Points determine the A–D rankings. Graduating from Class A carries preferential treatment, making the top rank the central goal of interclass competition 231.
- Class Points cannot fall below zero 221.
- Kitagawa argues that, short of reaching Class A, a rank change such as D to C does not itself improve a class’s teaching resources or classroom environment 241.
First-Month Rules
Classes begin the semester with 1,000 Class Points, but their conduct and performance can sharply reduce that total. In one simulation, the first monthly announcement showed Class A at 940, Class B at 650, Class C at 590, and Class D at zero 70 71. Classroom discipline affects points, and the school withholds information about the system during the first month 208 289.
In a later simulation, the first-month totals were much lower across the grade: 450 for Class 1-A, 424 for Class 1-B, 190 for Class 1-C, and zero for Class 1-D 221. These figures belong to different simulations, not successive monthly updates.
Special Exams and Awards
| Event | Class Point effect |
|---|---|
| Midterm Exam | A class receives 100 Class Points for passing if none of its students is expelled 82. |
| Uninhabited Island Special Exam | Class rankings award +300, +100, −100, and −300 Class Points from first through fourth place, respectively 295. |
| Sports Festival class matches | Each event win gives the winner 20 Class Points and costs the opponent 20. Winning the overall match adds 100; losing it costs 100 130. |
| Cultural Festival | The sales-ranking awards range from 300 Class Points for first place to 50 for ninth through twelfth 457. |
| Unanimous Vote Special Exam | Clearing all five topics awards 50 Class Points; failure within the time limit costs 300 273 274. |
| Mixed Training Camp | Top individual placements award Class Points to the students’ classes, including 50 for first, 30 for second, and 20 for third before applicable card multipliers 481 509. |
Notable Class Totals
| Situation | Class A | Class B | Class C | Class D |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First monthly announcement in an earlier simulation 70 71 | 940 | 650 | 590 | 0 |
| After the Midterm Exam in that simulation 82 | 1,004 | 683 | 656 | 87 |
| First monthly announcement in a later simulation 221 | 450 | 424 | 190 | 0 |
| After the Midterm Exam in the later simulation 289 | 548 | 501 | 272 | 0 |
| Before the second-semester Sports Festival 402 | 601 | 550 | 322 | 248 |
Class designations can change when rankings change. After the second-semester Sports Festival, the class that had started the later simulation as Class D rose to Class A; the announced totals included 550 for Class 1-B, 172 for Class 1-C, and 148 for Class 1-D 433.
