The Flash's Beginning

In the shower, hot water sprayed from the showerhead, and steam rose, enveloping Lin Li. The scalding water flowed down his face, cleansing his strong, lean body.

He closed his eyes, his hands open, and his entire being resembled a god. His body was slightly blurred, emitting arcs of electricity that flashed and dissipated.

Instantly.

Within a three-kilometer radius, countless disturbances—both light and dark, rippling or linear—vibrated at extremely high frequencies, or vibrated at low frequencies.

All of this was captured by Lin Li.

The electromagnetic field; the electric field generated the magnetic field, and the magnetic field generated electricity. The two were like a cause-and-effect relationship, endlessly cycling.

This was a result of Lin Li absorbing enough electricity last night. After some thought, he had easily figured out a way to detect Reverse-Flash.

Within his electromagnetic field, at least he wouldn't be unable to see Reverse-Flash due to his super-speed.

The frequency of the electromagnetic field was the speed of light. No matter what, if Reverse-Flash entered his electromagnetic field, he would at least be 'seen' by him. After all, if Reverse-Flash's speed couldn't reach the speed of light, his movements were destined to be seen through by Lin Li. This was extremely crucial for Lin Li. The most important aspect for a speedster was speed. Once he could predict a speedster's actions in advance, he could at least prepare a little.

Countless magnetic fields were 'viewed' and perceived by him.

He formed a colorless three-dimensional model in his mind. The model was a panoramic view of STAR Labs.

Within the model, Lin Li marked three red dots.

Upon closer inspection, the three red dots were all humanoid silhouettes.

In the control room lobby, there were two very small red dot humanoid silhouettes. Those were Cisco and Caitlin, emitting magnetic fields that Lin Li perceived.

The other red dot was four to five times larger than the two combined, intensely releasing a biological magnetic field.

Grodd.

This was the gorilla that Dr. Wells had experimented on five years ago in cooperation with the military. Later, the particle accelerator exploded, and the gorilla mutated, gaining the abilities of mental control and telepathy.

Grodd had been living in the sewers of STAR Labs, cared for and tamed by Wells.

A flicker of electricity flashed.

Lin Li opened his eyes, turned off the showerhead, and turned on the exhaust fan. The steam shot out of the room like a tornado.

He took a white towel and wiped the water droplets from his body.

Super-Speed Thinking brought him extreme clarity of thought. He contemplated the potential value Grodd's existence held for him and how to obtain technology from the 25th century from Dr. Wells' mind, especially needing Dr. Wells' knowledge, as this was at least a potential way to go home.

He longed to go home, back to his own Earth, to continue the proposal he hadn't finished.

Coming to this world was not his choice, and he had also fought a very terrible battle.

He would no longer be reckless like he was last night; that was a profound lesson.

He didn't keep the electromagnetic field perception on all the time, as it was too mentally taxing. From countless frequencies, building a three-dimensional model in his mind, and differentiating each type of frequency was a very strenuous task. Maintaining it for a long time would shatter his mind. Only when he could easily identify and recall what each frequency represented could this skill exert its greatest effect. His journey was still far from over.

He put on a STAR Labs tracksuit and athletic shoes. He stopped Super-Speed Thinking and walked out of the room, heading to the control room lobby.

In the lobby, Cisco and Caitlin had already prepared everything, and they just needed to get in the car to leave.

"Strange, why is Dr. Wells so slow today?"

Caitlin looked at her exquisite watch and said in confusion. The Doctor usually arrived very early and had never been late before. She didn't know what was happening today, and his lateness made her feel puzzled.

"Who knows? Maybe Dr. Wells is having a hearty breakfast before coming. Hey, Lin Li, I still think your performance art outfit from earlier looked good. If you wear that outfit and run a lap around the street, I don't think I'll ask you for the seven dollars in bus fare back."

Cisco shrugged and said jokingly when he saw Lin Li come out.

Lin Li said with a dark expression, "That's my dark past, please forget it."

Suddenly, a gust of wind rushed towards them, blowing their hair backward, carrying yellow arcs of electricity. Barry appeared in the control room lobby in a backward-leaning stopping pose.

"Sorry I'm a bit late, I waited a long time at the traffic lights..."

Barry stammered out an excuse.

Fifteen minutes later, Dr. Wells arrived in the control room lobby in his wheelchair.

"My apologies, everyone. I slept in a bit late."

Dr. Wells' face was as usual, his expression apologetic, as if he hadn't been hit by that punch yesterday.

Lin Li remained composed, with no intention of exposing Dr. Wells as an enemy. He was strategizing in his mind.

For Lin Li, who knew the outcome of future events, perhaps the important thing wasn't defeating Dr. Wells, but rather how to learn more knowledge from him to help himself.

Dr. Wells, it's time for some acting.

Lin Li thought to himself.

"Everyone's here, let's go. Lin Li, Barry, you two need to perform well today."

Cisco clapped his hands and exclaimed.

Ferris Air Testing Facility.

This was a long runway in the suburbs. The ground was slightly damp, and the morning mist was evaporating under the sunlight, bringing a warm and humid climate. A cool morning breeze blew, bringing a refreshing chill. It was the season of clear autumn skies.

STAR Labs' research vehicle was parked on the runway. Under a blue awning, Dr. Wells, Cisco, and Caitlin were calibrating three computers and several research equipment housed in silver cases—the equipment to test Lin Li and Barry.

Lin Li and Barry were in the car, changing into the test suits that Cisco had provided them.

Barry, halfway into his red suit, leaned in towards Lin Li with excitement. "Lin Li, do you know what I did last night?"

Lin Li teased, "Don't tell me you broke your record for the first time? Congratulations, Barry."

Barry exclaimed even more excitedly, "It's even more gratifying than that."

Lin Li pondered for a moment and said, "Broke it twice?"

Barry ignored Lin Li's nonsensical comment, his eyes shining. "Last night, I stopped a gang crime."

"Lin Li, do you know how powerless ordinary people are against evil? Last night, I saw two young girls almost die from gunshots."

"If I hadn't been there, two young lives would have been extinguished. They shouldn't have died."

"No one can control another person's life, absolutely no one."

"It's a few evil people, wantonly harming others. I rescued those two girls. Do you know, they were stunned at the time?"

"I am so fortunate to have this speed, to have speed beyond that of ordinary people."

"I can save them."

"I have the ability, I should save them."
