On February 28th at noon, Su You once again boarded a passenger aircraft headed for Hongning Base City.
Last night, after being "tortured" by his various methods, He Yourong finally agreed to move into the villa at Jinjiang Garden, though she claimed it was only to house-sit for him and that she would move out as soon as he returned.
Su You didn't force the issue and agreed verbally, but he had a premonition that by the time he returned next, he would have taken that final step, at which point he wouldn't need to worry about such things.
Returning to the training camp in high spirits, Su You put away his things and headed to the attic next door to see Zhang Yue. He was quite fond of this "fish" he had set his sights on, and after learning about her background, he felt an even greater sense of pity for her.
However, for the past month or so, he had only been able to contact Zhang Yue online, and since their schedules rarely aligned, he had missed her quite a bit.
As for the previous warning from the Wang Family, he didn't pay it much mind. From an outsider's perspective, he was merely pursuing Zhang Yue. Unless the head of the Wang Family was a lunatic, they would never casually make an enemy of a genius capable of entering the Elite Training Camp.
Starting the next day, Su You threw himself back into his training. On odd-numbered days, he rotated between the Sword Technique Training Room and the Imitation Gravity Room, while on even-numbered days, he hunted monsters in City 1002.
Last December, before his sword technique, footwork, and force-exertion had broken through, he had already ranked sixth in the training camp.
During the two months of vacation, his physical fitness had further increased; his punching power had reached over 13,400 kilograms, and his speed had reached the standard of an intermediate wargod.
Now, he had naturally and firmly surpassed Zhang Yue, becoming the number one student in the Basic Training Camp.
However, far from losing her fighting spirit, Zhang Yue trained even more desperately, even warning Su You not to go easy on her.
On the morning of March 19th, Su You and Zhang Yue walked together toward the large martial arts hall on the second floor of the Small Nine-Story Tower. Today, an advanced wargod-level teacher would be giving a lecture there, specifically focusing on footwork, which was why Su You had made a special trip to attend.
His footwork had broken through to the perfect-level over two months ago, and while Su You knew the next realm was the artistic-conception-level, he was at a loss as to how to actually achieve that breakthrough.
The two soon arrived at the large martial arts hall. There were many cushions placed on the floor, and quite a few students were already seated, chatting and laughing.
The cushions here were numbered; the lower the number, the further forward the seat, and each person could only choose the seat corresponding to their ranking from the previous month.
Su You and Zhang Yue walked straight to the first row of cushions, sat down, and calmed their minds while waiting for the teacher to arrive.
Compared to the Elite Training Camp, the Basic Training Camp had several hundred more students, but fewer wargod-level teachers. Naturally, it was impossible to have one teacher for every few disciples like in the Elite Training Camp, so the Basic Training Camp usually held large lectures.
Not long after, the teacher arrived at the front of the hall, and all the students immediately fell silent.
This teacher was named Gongye Yang, an advanced wargod-level powerhouse, and it was said that his footwork had already broken through to the artistic-conception-level.
Teaching at the training camp was very different from university lectures in his past life. The wargod-level teacher didn't have a set curriculum; instead, the class was conducted through a Q&A session where the teacher answered the students' questions.
After the students ranked ahead of him had asked their questions, Su You stood up and asked:
"Teacher, after one's footwork reaches the perfect-level, how should one break through to the artistic-conception-level?"
"Perfect-level?" The many students in the hall looked at Su You in surprise. In the Basic Training Camp, many younger students hadn't even reached the micro-level; those who could reach the micro-level in footwork were at least ranked in the top hundred.
Gongye Yang's eyes lit up, and he asked with a smile: "Your footwork has already broken through to the perfect-level?"
"Yes," Su You nodded.
"Very good. Stay behind after class for a moment," Gongye Yang instructed, then continued:
"The perfect-level is already difficult to describe in words, and the artistic-conception-level is even more ineffable. It can only be realized through your own comprehension. I can only give you some inspiration: practice more, observe more, and think more."
"Yes." Su You nodded, sat cross-legged, and began to ponder with a furrowed brow.
One after another, students behind him asked about their own confusion regarding footwork training, but most were just questions about the micro-level, which failed to pique Su You's interest.
The class lasted for two hours. Basically, the confusion of all the students present was cleared up, and the teaching video had already been recorded so that all students could watch it at any time.
After class ended, the students left in groups of three or five, while Su You walked up to Teacher Gongye Yang.
"To be able to take first place in the Basic Training Camp before the age of eighteen is quite impressive." Gongye Yang nodded and said with a smile: "Spar with me and let me see your footwork."
"Yes, Teacher." Su You was a bit puzzled, but he didn't hesitate at all. He stepped forward, his right fist thrusting out like a long sword.
Gongye Yang flicked his hand aside, his body lunging forward like a phantom, while simultaneously following up with a horizontal slash.
Su You retreated instantly, dodging Gongye Yang's attack, but before he could counterattack, Gongye Yang's next strike arrived.
Su You's figure shifted, dodging Gongye Yang's attack patterns time and again. Gongye Yang, however, was relaxed and effortless, suppressing Su You completely with every move, leaving him no chance to counterattack.
A moment later, Gongye Yang stopped and said with a smile: "Your perfect-level footwork is already very proficient. You must have broken through a while ago, right?"
"I broke through over two months ago," Su You said, nodding.
Gongye Yang suddenly realized and said: "No wonder no one reported it to the higher-ups; it turns out you broke through during the vacation."
"Report it to the higher-ups?" Su You asked, confused.
Gongye Yang laughed heartily: "Being able to comprehend perfect-level footwork is considered excellent even in the Elite Training Camp. Plus, you're not even eighteen yet; the Dojo should be offering you a special recruitment in advance."
"Special recruitment in advance?"
Gongye Yang explained with a smile: "Yes, special recruitment. Although you joined our Extreme Martial Arts Hall before, you actually joined as an ordinary martial artist, which means you have the right to accept invitations from other organizations."
"Special recruitment is a formal enlistment to become a core member of our Extreme Martial Arts Hall. In the future, you will be able to hold various positions within the Dojo based on your strength."
After Su You nodded to show he understood, Gongye Yang continued:
"Once the news that your footwork has reached the perfect-level spreads today, various countries and organizations will soon send people to invite you, and the conditions they offer will definitely be very good."
"However, don't be in a hurry to choose. Wait a day or two until the conditions from all sides are clear before making a decision."
"Of course, I suggest you join our Extreme Martial Arts Hall. You should know that the vast majority of treasures in the world that money cannot buy are in the hands of the Dojo Master, and many of them are not for sale to the public."
"Thank you for the reminder, Teacher Gongye," Su You said with a smile. Possessing memories from his past life, he had never even considered joining other factions.
Gongye Yang patted Su You on the shoulder and said: "Don't worry, within the next day or two, the higher-ups should be summoning you."
