The Reunion
In the Count's Mansion's drawing room.
"Wharton," Scott strode into the living room, smiling familiarly, "Let me introduce you. This beautiful lady is Miss Dilia, the special envoy of the Yulan Empire."
Scott was the Eighth Imperial Prince of the empire, while Nina was the Seventh Imperial Princess. Scott and Wharton were naturally very familiar with each other.
"An envoy from the Yulan Empire? What are you doing here?" Wharton was surprised, but his expression immediately changed, and he exclaimed, "Your name is Dilia? My other sister-in-law?"
When Lin Feng introduced Jenny to everyone, a casual remark from Beibei revealed to Wharton that his older Lin Feng had another wife named Dilia besides Jenny. Wharton also remembered the name "Dilia" very well.
Dilia's face paled. Although she knew from Wharton's words that Lin Feng had not forgotten her, it also revealed that Lin Feng had other wives besides her.
Scott and Lord Kiefer were also taken aback by Wharton's words. Sister-in-law? And another one?
Although they had doubts, they knew this was not the time for them to speak.
Dilia, being a diplomat, quickly regained her composure and smiled slightly at Wharton, saying, "You must be Lin Feng's younger brother, Wharton? If I'm not mistaken, I'm the Dilia you mentioned."
Before Wharton could speak, Dilia continued the introduction, "This is my teacher, the Wind-elemental Saint Magus, Master Longers."
Dilia's words cleverly diverted everyone's attention.
"Wharton, the Imperial envoy has arrived?" A boisterous voice rang out; it was Gates, one of the Barker Five Brothers.
Wharton had been training with the Barker Five Brothers, but stopped to greet them after hearing his subordinate's report. Gates followed out of curiosity.
"Wow, what a beautiful girl," Gates said, his eyes lighting up.
"Gates, this is Miss Dilia, the Imperial Envoy, and this is Master Longers, the Wind-elemental Saint Magus," Wharton immediately introduced, worried that Gates might cause trouble.
Gates, being rather thick-skinned, had long forgotten Beibei's words and completely ignored Dilia, shifting his attention to Master Longers.
"Wow, Saint Magus!" Gates' eyes widened like a bull's.
Master Longers sighed inwardly. Good heavens, what kind of people are these? Wharton's tall stature was enough to amaze Longers. But Wharton was alright, after all, he could be considered handsome. But Gates was different. His waist was also incredibly thick, and he looked like a big bear.
"Stay away from my master." A deep voice rang out.
Behind Master Longers, the giant bear grew rapidly, from two meters tall to three meters. The Earth Bear looked down at Gates, a hint of smugness in its eyes.
"Saint Realm beast?" Gates looked up at the Earth Bear.
Dilia immediately cut to the chase. "Earl Wharton, I've come with my teacher to see Master Lin Feng."
Although Dilia's expression returned to normal, Dilia was still angry with Lin Feng Lin Feng and was not prepared to forgive Lin Feng until she received a reasonable explanation from him.
"Okay, come with me." Wharton nodded. Although Lin Feng was currently cultivating, who was Dilia? She was his sister-in-law. If his sister-in-law wanted to see his brother, he, as her brother-in-law, naturally wouldn't dare to stop her.
Dilia clenched her fists slightly, then exhaled to relax.
Scott and Kiefer exchanged a glance and wisely followed suit, remaining silent.
"Miss Dilia, my brother is cultivating in the courtyard ahead," Wharton said with a smile. Gates, standing beside him, immediately added, "I'll go inform the master."
Dilia felt her breathing become rapid.
Nine years!
The year Lin Feng's father died, Dilia and Lin Feng parted ways, and more than nine years have passed in the blink of an eye. Dilia closed her eyes slightly, and when she opened them again, she was much calmer.
"Beibei, move aside, I have something important to say." Gates' loud voice rang out in the courtyard.
"My lord, there is a woman outside named Dilia who wants to see you."
"Dilia?" A detached yet slightly surprised voice rang out in the courtyard. The voice wasn't loud, but to Dilia, it was as if she had been struck by lightning.
Even with the strongest mental fortitude, the thought of seeing someone she had longed for for nine years again made her heart tremble.
"Whoosh!" A gentle breeze blew, rustling the branches of the surrounding short, sturdy trees and also ruffling Dilia's long, golden hair, making it appear even more flowing in the breeze.
The wind stung her eyes, and Dilia squinted.
At that moment, a figure who had appeared in his dreams hundreds of times appeared in front of the courtyard gate. He was wearing a simple light blue robe, and his short hair had grown long.
Dilia looked at him carefully.
"He's taller than before, and much more mature." Dilia gazed at the person she longed for, but for a moment, she couldn't utter a single word.

"Dilia, it really is you." Lin Feng's voice rang out with a hint of surprise.
Lin Feng transformed into a gust of wind and vanished abruptly from Dilia's sight. The next instant, Dilia felt her hand being grasped. Looking up, she saw none other than Lin Feng.
Overwhelmed with excitement, Lin Feng unconsciously used even the "Wind Walk," which he had only recently mastered.
Seeing this, Longers was secretly astonished. With his keen eyesight, he could naturally tell that Lin Feng had just merged himself into the wind and then, as if by Teleportation, floated to Dilia's side.
Dilia gazed at the person she had been longing for, and felt a sense of "holding hands and gazing at each other with tearful eyes, speechless and choked with emotion."
"Lin Feng, this is my teacher, the Wind-elemental Saint Magus Master Longers, this is the Earth Bear Haddon, and this is..." Dilia's mind was now completely clear.
"Roar!" Sadius snorted, clearly annoyed. "Lin Feng, you don't even recognize me anymore?"
Lin Feng also came to his senses at this moment, realizing that this was not the time for romance, and there were far too many third wheels around.
Hearing Sadius's words, Lin Feng gave an awkward smile and then said, "Miss Sadius, how could I forget you?"
"Hmph, I protected your wife for nine years, what reward do you plan to give me?" Sadius actually demanded payment directly from Lin Feng.
"Sister Long" Dilia said coquettishly to Sadius.
"Sister Long?" Lin Feng was taken aback, but he quickly changed the subject, smiling at Longers and his group, "Come in."
Seeing Lin Feng's smile, Dilia felt a surge of warmth welling up inside her. "Is this what happiness feels like?" Dilia felt her eyes burning.
"Wharton, you can go and greet these two." Lin Feng glanced at Scott and Kiefer, then said no more.
Scott and Kiefer showed no anger whatsoever and immediately left respectfully. After all, he was a Saint Realm expert, treated with deference even by His Majesty the Emperor; why would he care about these spoiled nobles?
Around the stone table in the courtyard.
Lin Feng, Dilia, Longers sat down in a circle.
"What are you looking at?" The Earth Bear glared at the Black-Striped Cloud Leopard, Haeru. As Saint Realm magical beast, the Earth Bear was extremely proud.
"You stupid bear," Haeru sneered.
"Saint Realm beast?" Longers and Dilia looked at Lin Feng in surprise when they heard Haeru speak.
"Haeru, stop arguing." Lin Feng glanced at Haeru Haeru, who immediately lay down and ignored the Earth Bear. Haeru Haeru knew he was no match for the Earth Bear, but he wasn't afraid because the Earth Bear was slower than him.
Beibei deliberately brandished its paws at the Earth Bear in a show of defiance.
"Beibei," Dilia exclaimed excitedly, "Come here."
Beibei very obediently jumped straight into Dilia's arms.
"Beibei, it's been a long time." Dilia stroked Beibei's smooth fur affectionately, and Beibei squinted its little eyes in enjoyment.
Although she was stroking Beibei, Dilia was thinking about Lin Feng.
The Lin Feng of yesteryear was so resolute and ruthless, but the Lin Feng of today has become more gentle, and his every move is so natural.
"Master Lin Feng, I heard you're going to have a showdown with Haydson?" Longers was the first to bring up the topic.
"Yes." Lin Feng nodded with a smile.
Dilia looked up at Lin Feng and said, "Lin Feng, are you sure you can beat that Haydson?"
"Of course," Lin Feng replied honestly.
He didn't even consider Haydson a threat. His reason for challenging Haydson wasn't to spar with him, but to steal Haydson's limelight and boost his own reputation.
He had already decided that once he finished things here, he would go to the Chaos Territory to expand his territory and deal with the Radiant Church. To do all this, he needed to build momentum, that is, reputation. The louder his reputation, the easier it would be to do all this.
Reputation is also a form of soft power.
Longers looked at Lin Feng, then at Dilia, and smiled, "You two old classmates haven't seen each other in a long time, have you? I won't disturb you any longer. I'll leave and go for a walk. You two can have a good chat. I imagine you have a lot to say to each other since you haven't seen each other for almost ten years."
Dilia gave her teacher a grateful look.
Master Longers clearly intended to create an opportunity for her to be alone with Lin Feng.
With that, Master Longers led the Earth Bear away from the courtyard, leaving only Lin Feng, Dilia, and the three magical beasts Beibei, Haeru, and Sadius in the courtyard.
