Background / History

Tang Hao’s enmity toward Martial Soul Hall originated from its past pursuit of him. Soon after becoming a Title Douluo, he used the Clear Sky Sect’s Ring Detonation technique to escape three pursuing Title Douluo and severely wound the previous Pope, Qian Xunji, whose injuries later proved fatal. 58

Ah Yin’s sacrifice became Tang Hao’s ninth, hundred-thousand-year spirit ring. The memory of that event, and of Qian Xunji’s involvement in the pursuit, fuels Tang Hao’s hatred of Qian Renyu and Martial Soul Hall. 52 54

Repeatedly detonating spirit rings left Tang Hao with hidden injuries. He later reveals that four detonations in the past had caused lasting damage and backlash, limiting his ability to fight at his peak. 64 Tang Chen eventually heals these injuries with Asura divinity and further trains him before Tang Hao’s final campaign. 149 151

His confidence is paired with a fiercely protective devotion to Tang San. He repeatedly shields his son in battle, prioritizes Tang San’s growth, and vows to block dangers from reaching him. 54 140 151

Despite his pride, Tang Hao can assess a battlefield soberly after suffering setbacks. During the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect siege, he warns Tang San not to underestimate Martial Soul Hall’s superior number of Title Douluo. 84 However, when cornered, he becomes desperate enough to consider threatening Martial Soul City’s civilians and destroying the Six-Winged Angel statue to force Qian Renyu’s hand. 55 57
