Background / History

More than twenty years before the central conflict, Bibi Dong was forcibly kept in Martial Soul City and sexually violated. Qian Renyu later identifies Qian Xunji’s wrongdoings when explaining her past to Qian Renxue. Bibi Dong remembers enduring for years before finding an opportunity for revenge 20 108 121.

She is the biological mother of Qian Xunji’s twins, Qian Renyu and Qian Renxue, but feels no maternal affection toward either. During their childhood, she repeatedly considered killing them; Qian Daoliu’s protection prevented her from doing so. Her relationship with Qian Renyu remains hostile for roughly twenty years 1 60.

Bibi Dong devoured Qian Xunji fifteen years before her later battle with Qian Renyu. She attributes much of her subsequent cultivation growth to her divine inheritance, while concealing her full strength to preserve her plans and avoid compromising the Rakshasa God trials 27 30 123.

She held the papal throne for over a decade and built influence throughout Martial Soul Hall’s factions. Hu Liena became her disciple after distinguishing herself in a childhood selection, and Bibi Dong groomed her as the future Saintess and successor 20 93 104.

Appearance

  • Build and features: Tall, with a beautiful face, jade-white skin, willow-leaf brows, and long, waterfall-like hair. Her eyes are repeatedly described as cold and sharp 1 2 29 36.
  • Papal attire: Continues wearing her papal robes and crown after losing office, keeping the Pope’s Scepter as a visible symbol of her former authority 8 22.
  • Full-power manifestation: Surrounded by purple-green death mist, with ethereal patterns appearing across her face and both Spider Emperor phantoms behind her 122.

Personality

Bibi Dong is commanding, proud, and intensely protective of her prestige. She considers Martial Soul Hall’s development under her leadership grounds for retaining the papal throne, and treats the loss of authority over her former followers as a personal humiliation. Even after being deposed, she repeatedly presents herself as the rightful leader 20 23 93 94.

She favors patience and concealed strength, holding back trump cards until she believes the timing is favorable. Her restraint is calculated rather than submissive: she avoids battles that might expose her full capabilities or interfere with her divine inheritance, while searching for opportunities to reverse her losses 24 27 30 36.

Her affection is highly selective. Hu Liena’s loyalty softens her otherwise closed-off disposition, and she risks confrontation to protect her disciple. By contrast, she regards her biological children as obstacles and attempts to force Qian Renxue into obedience through overwhelming soul pressure 1 20 27 106.

Yu Xiaogang is her overriding emotional attachment. She protects him at the expense of her standing, accepts humiliation to preserve his life, and continues pursuing his body after losing her cultivation. As Qian Renyu dismantles her influence, her controlled exterior gives way to increasingly visible anger, anxiety, and desperation 63 90 115 153.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Spider Emperor Martial Souls

  • Death Spider Emperor: Her first martial soul, used for poisonous mist, restraint, poisonous spikes, and the life-preserving Undying Body 27 28 29.
  • Soul-Eater Spider Emperor: Her second martial soul; provides Demon Spider Summoning 28.
  • Combined manifestation: Releasing both martial souls supports her full Limit Douluo strength 121 122.
  • Death Spider Emperor ring configuration: Two yellow, two purple, four black, and one red hundred-thousand-year ring 27.
  • Current limitation: Both martial souls are completely shattered by Qian Renyu, ending her demonstrated soul-master combat ability 127.

Poison and Restraint

  • Poisonous mist: Produces purple fog capable of killing ordinary people and weaker soul masters within seconds 27.
  • Death Spider Web Restraint — third soul skill: Launches a fast purple web that divides into smaller nets. She uses it to bind Qian Renyu and free Hu Liena from his grip 27.
  • Selective protection: Forms a soul-power barrier around Hu Liena to keep her own poisonous mist from harming her 27.

Demon Spider Summoning

  • Soul-Eater Spider Emperor’s third soul skill: Creates small spiders from the earth’s death energy 28.
  • Applications: The spiders appear suited to reconnaissance but can self-destruct near their targets, releasing death energy 28.
  • Limit: Their explosions fail to injure Qian Renyu while he wears the Armor of Doom and Slaughter 28.

Blood-Sucking Spider Spikes

  • Death Spider Emperor’s sixth soul skill: Releases thousands of hook-like poisonous spikes in a concentrated barrage 28.
  • Applications: Carries Death Spider Emperor poison and drains an opponent’s blood to replenish Bibi Dong’s energy 28.
  • Limit: The spikes cannot penetrate Qian Renyu’s Armor of Doom and Slaughter 28.

Undying Body

  • Death Spider Emperor’s ninth soul skill: Uses her hundred-thousand-year ring to enter a semi-energized state and survive otherwise lethal damage 29.
  • Protection: Described as negating damage below the divine level; she later uses it to stop bleeding after a sword passes through her chest 29 123.
  • Soul-power cost: Cannot be maintained indefinitely because of its consumption 29.
  • Divine vulnerability: The Sword of the Three Divine Seals suppresses its recovery effect, leaving her severely wounded despite activating it 124.

Rakshasa Divine Power

  • Inheritance trials: Pursues the Rakshasa God’s divine trials and accelerates her efforts when Qian Renyu’s growth threatens to surpass her 11.
  • Divine shadow: Manifests a Rakshasa God phantom behind her two martial souls, demonstrating substantial progress through the Rakshasa Nine Trials 122.
  • Rakshasa Demon Scythe projection: Condenses a scythe from death energy and drives it with partial Rakshasa divine power. The projection can attack the soul directly 122.
  • Limits: She remains a demigod rather than a true god. Qian Renyu’s Annihilation erodes her divine power, and his attacks eventually disperse the scythe projection 123 125.

Defensive and Escape Techniques

  • Spike armor: Covers the space before her with purple-black spikes more than a meter long, forming armor against Qian Renyu’s opening counterattack 3.
  • Spider Emperor Clone: Separates an identical figure with a slight difference in strength; uses the technique to attempt escape while leaving a figure facing Qian Renyu’s sword 124.
  • Forced maximum output: Pushes her injured body beyond its sustainable state during her final counterattack. The resulting burst improves her agility and tears a gap in the elders’ barrier, but would leave her extremely lethargic afterward 125.
  • Eternal Wound: Prepares this skill after her spikes fail against Qian Renyu’s armor; its effect is not demonstrated in the supplied passage 28.

Leadership and Political Maneuvering

  • Institutional influence: Maintains extensive connections from more than a decade as Pope, including former subordinates whose loyalties become divided after her removal 20 93 94.
  • Authority claims: Attempts to use Worship status to avoid the Pope’s orders, then invokes her experience to seek control of Martial Soul Hall during Qian Renyu’s absence 23 93.
  • Mentorship: Guides Hu Liena’s cultivation and tournament preparation, emphasizing strength as the means to recover lost respect 20 36.
  • Bluffing after her downfall: Successfully persuades a patrolling soul master to escort her by relying on recognition of her former papal status rather than actual power 154.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Pope’s Scepter — Symbol of papal authority that she retains after deposition. Uses it as a soul-power-coated weapon, to block access to Hu Liena, and later to support herself while injured 2 25 27 124.
  • Papal robes and crown — Continues wearing them after losing the throne 8 22.
  • Soul Tool — Stores items, including her scepter and a soul bone 36 122 124.
  • Rakshasa Demon Scythe projection — A death-energy manifestation empowered by the Rakshasa inheritance, not the true divine artifact 122.
  • Ten-thousand-year soul bone — Gives it to Hu Liena three days before the tournament grand finals to strengthen her disciple 36.

Relationships

  • Qian Renyu — Biological son, political rival, and eventual successor as Pope. Their hostility culminates in his destruction of both her martial souls; he spares her life because of his promise to Qian Renxue 1 4 124 127.
  • Qian Renxue — Biological daughter and Qian Renyu’s twin sister. Bibi Dong opposes her appointment as Saintess. After learning her mother’s past, Qian Renxue initially grants her a final chance, then withdraws that leniency when her correspondence with Yu Xiaogang is exposed 1 105 108 115.
  • Qian Xunji — Father of her children and the man responsible for the wrongdoings revealed to Qian Renxue. Bibi Dong later devours him 108 123.
  • Qian Daoliu — Her children’s grandfather and her principal institutional opponent. Protects the twins, supports Qian Renyu’s succession, and later restrains her while Qian Renyu destroys her martial souls 1 3 126.
  • Hu Liena — Direct disciple and intended successor. Bibi Dong protects, trains, and equips her, but also uses her obedience to advance plans for recovering power and contacting Yu Xiaogang 20 27 36 115.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Object of her enduring romantic attachment. His safety becomes leverage against her; after his death, she risks entering the military camp to recover his corpse 63 90 153 154.
  • Yue Guan and Gui Mei — Former papal subordinates who initially fear and obey her. Their service transfers to Qian Renyu, leaving Yue Guan particularly conflicted between old loyalty and current orders 1 8 20 94.
  • Tang Hao — Battlefield opponent whom she deliberately gives room to escape during the tournament crisis. She again holds back against him during the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect campaign 59 73 90.
  • Liu Erlong — Romantic rival connected to Yu Xiaogang. Bibi Dong plans to have Qian Renyu eliminate her and later celebrates her death as removing a rival 36 59 90.
  • Golden Crocodile Douluo — Opponent loyal to Qian Renyu. Witnessed her attempts against the young twins, blocks her return to administrative power, and reports her secret correspondence 60 94 115.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Deposition and the Yu Xiaogang Dispute

Bibi Dong begins by ordering Yue Guan and Gui Mei to intercept the geniuses traveling from Tiantou City, with Tang San as their priority target. Qian Renyu enters the Pope’s Palace and demands the throne, revealing his Divine Throne martial soul. Her counterattack fails to secure control, and Qian Daoliu endorses Qian Renyu’s succession. She leaves the palace threatening to settle the matter later 1 2 3 4.

When Yu Xiaogang comes seeking the secret of twin martial souls, she attempts to take him away from Qian Renyu. Her former authority proves insufficient, and she avoids openly invoking motherhood because she does not want to expose that relationship before Yu Xiaogang. Qian Renyu strips Yu Xiaogang of his honorary elder status and proceeds with punishment despite her objections 8 9.

Protecting Hu Liena

Hu Liena’s refusal to answer the new Pope’s summons brings Qian Renyu to Bibi Dong’s residence. Bibi Dong argues that Worship status exempts her from papal commands, but Qian Daoliu grants Qian Renyu temporary authority over the Worship Hall, undermining that defense 20 21 22 23 24.

She attacks to free Hu Liena and escalates through both martial souls’ skills. Qian Renyu’s counterattack forces her to use Undying Body before Qian Daoliu intervenes. Hu Liena survives, but loses tournament honors and eligibility to become Saintess for life 27 28 29 30.

Bibi Dong subsequently redirects Hu Liena toward winning the tournament despite the loss of official rewards. She supplies a ten-thousand-year soul bone and hopes the ensuing conflict with Shrek will occupy Qian Renyu while she advances her divine trials 36.

Tang Hao’s Escape and Punitive Service

During the tournament aftermath, Bibi Dong tries to persuade Qian Renyu to release Tang San and Yu Xiaogang. She later inserts herself into his battle with Tang Hao, deliberately easing Tang Hao’s situation and blocking pursuit when he escapes. Qian Renyu uses her interference as grounds to have five Worship Hall elders take her into custody 48 59 60.

Her punishment is to serve as the vanguard against the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. She initially refuses but accepts when Qian Renyu threatens Yu Xiaogang’s life. During the campaign, her continued restraint against Tang Hao draws further pressure from Qian Renyu, who eventually orders her to intercept three Clear Sky Sect Titled Douluos 62 63 73 77 85.

She returns injured but considers the campaign worthwhile because Yu Xiaogang survived and Liu Erlong died. Her promise to install Hu Liena as Saintess remains unchanged 90.

Failed Return to Power and the Saintess Conflict

Qian Daoliu’s departure for Slaughter City prompts Bibi Dong to occupy the papal throne and propose managing Martial Soul Hall while Qian Renyu travels to the Heaven Dou Empire. He rejects her claim and appoints Golden Crocodile Douluo to manage affairs instead 92 93 94.

Qian Renxue’s return introduces another obstacle: Qian Renyu intends to appoint his sister as Saintess. Bibi Dong summons her daughter, declares her unqualified, and escalates to soul-pressure intimidation when Qian Renxue refuses to yield. Qian Renyu intervenes and slaps Bibi Dong before leaving with his sister 104 105 106 107.

Exposure and Destruction of Her Martial Souls

After Qian Renxue absorbs Xiao Wu’s hundred-thousand-year ring, Bibi Dong sends Hu Liena to arrange a letter to Yu Xiaogang at Shrek Academy. Golden Crocodile Douluo reports the correspondence, and Qian Renxue concludes that her mother has wasted her final chance 114 115.

Following his seclusion, Qian Renyu confronts Bibi Dong over collusion with the enemy. The ensuing battle exposes her level 99 cultivation and partial Rakshasa divine power. She sends Hu Liena outside the battlefield before attacking with the projected Rakshasa Demon Scythe 119 121 122.

Qian Renyu erodes her divine power, wounds her through the chest, and suppresses Undying Body. Her clone-assisted escape and desperate counterattack fail. Qian Daoliu returns to seal her escape routes, and Qian Renyu destroys both Spider Emperor martial souls. Her immediate despair centers on losing the ability to help Yu Xiaogang 123 124 125 126 127.

Pursuit of Yu Xiaogang’s Corpse

After Yu Xiaogang’s death in Slaughter City, Bibi Dong disappears from her residence. Despite being reduced to an ordinary person, she reaches the front lines and seeks his corpse, which hangs from the army’s great banner 152 153.

She bluffs a patrol into escorting her, but Qian Renyu arrives before she can recover the body. He offers her a chance to retrieve it without providing help across the distance involved. She claims to retain special abilities despite her lost cultivation; Qian Renyu regards her as no threat. Tang Hao’s arrival interrupts the confrontation 154 156.
