Limit Soul Spirit
The awakening ceremony ended quickly. Aside from Gu Yue and Qiangu Wuji, the others had rather mediocre aptitude, and no other Innate Full Soul Power appeared.
In truth, this was only natural. After all, Innate Full Soul Power was a one-in-ten-thousand occurrence; it wasn't something as common as cabbage.
After the ceremony concluded, Leng Yaozhu kept the two of them behind, preparing to bestow Soul Spirits upon them.
After winding their way through the facility, the three of them headed toward the department where the Soul Spirits were stored.
Along the way, Leng Yaozhu led the path while explaining things to the two of them.
"On our continent, once you have awakened your Martial Soul, being bestowed a Soul Spirit is equivalent to officially becoming a Soul Master."
Having said this, she turned her head to glance at the two, smiling as she spoke.
"You are both geniuses, so there is no need for me to elaborate on the importance of a Soul Spirit."
Qiangu Wuji and Gu Yue exchanged a look and nodded in unison.
One of them was a transmigrator, and the other was the Dragon God who had lived for who knows how many years; both possessed mature minds, so naturally, there was no need to dwell on such matters.
Leng Yaozhu watched their expressions and nodded with satisfaction once more. She then turned her gaze toward Qiangu Wuji, her expression turning somewhat serious.
"Wuji, as my son and the future master of the Spirit Pagoda, I hope your starting point is fundamentally higher than others. That is why I have prepared a special Soul Spirit for you as your first one."
From the moment Qiangu Wuji displayed his talent, Leng Yaozhu had decided to cultivate him with all her might.
Facing Leng Yaozhu's expectant gaze, Qiangu Wuji also nodded and said with extreme sincerity.
"Mother, please rest assured. I will not let you down."
Leng Yaozhu nodded, then looked toward Gu Yue.
"Gu Yue, you can also give it a try later."
And so, the three of them walked through various twists and turns, passing through a hidden passage until they soon arrived at the second basement level.
This was an extremely vast, open area. Upon entering, one could see various researchers in white lab coats moving about, and the surroundings were filled with all sorts of clamorous noises.
Is this a laboratory?
Qiangu Wuji was slightly stunned. Weren't they going to be bestowed a Soul Spirit? Why had they ended up here?
As if sensing the doubt in his heart, Leng Yaozhu suddenly walked toward a certain area.
Before long, she returned with a bald old man.
The two seemed to be arguing about something, and as they approached, one could hear their conversation.
"Vice Pagoda Master, are you serious? This is too risky. Even if Young Master Wuji is exceptionally gifted, rashly absorbing this kind of Soul Spirit is too dangerous. If things go wrong, he could hurt himself."
"You don't need to worry about that; I have my own judgment."
Hearing their conversation, Qiangu Wuji became even more puzzled. Judging by what was said, it seemed the Soul Spirit he was about to absorb carried risks?
Before long, the two walked over, and Leng Yaozhu immediately explained.
"Wuji, Gu Yue, the Soul Spirits you two are about to absorb are right here."
Qiangu Wuji blinked curiously.
"Mother, where is this...?"
Leng Yaozhu did not explain, instead turning her head to look at the old man beside her.
Seeing this, the old man sighed and stepped forward to explain.
"As you can see, this is the Soul Spirit manufacturing laboratory, and what you are about to absorb are Soul Spirits without a grade."
Having said this, he paused and added.
"This type of Soul Spirit is also known as a Limit Soul Spirit."
"Limit Soul Spirit?"
Hearing this term, which had never appeared in the original story, Qiangu Wuji felt a surge of curiosity.
"Wuji, you should know that every Soul Spirit is categorized into ten-year, hundred-year, thousand-year, and ten-thousand-year levels. This is set up to accommodate every Soul Master."
"The so-called Limit Soul Spirit is a semi-finished Soul Spirit that has not yet undergone level classification."
Leng Yaozhu explained from the side.
"This type of Soul Spirit is not without its benefits. Because there is no evolutionary classification, their energy has no limit. In the end, what kind of Soul Spirit one can absorb depends entirely on one's own ability."
Just as she finished speaking, the old man at the side added with a helpless look.
"Vice Pagoda Master, you haven't finished yet. If one can successfully absorb this kind of Soul Spirit, there are indeed great benefits, but the problem is that absorbing such a Soul Spirit also comes with very high risks."
He sighed and looked at Qiangu Wuji and the other with earnest concern.
"Absorbing a Soul Spirit is fundamentally a display of mental power control. The reason Soul Spirits are categorized by level is precisely to prevent people from absorbing Soul Spirits that exceed their body's limit."
"A Soul Spirit without level classification means that while absorbing it, one must constantly be aware of the changes in their own body. Knowing when to stop—the requirement for mental power control for this is not something two children who have just awakened their Martial Souls can achieve."
After the old man finished speaking, he looked at Leng Yaozhu again, trying to persuade her with heartfelt words.
"Vice Pagoda Master, please reconsider. These two children are truly too young."
Facing the old man's repeated attempts at persuasion, Leng Yaozhu waved her hand with calm indifference.
"It is fine. With me watching from the side, nothing will go wrong."
Having said that, she looked toward Qiangu Wuji.
"Wuji, what are your thoughts?"
Faced with this question, Qiangu Wuji nodded naturally.
"Let's do as you say, Mother."
Regardless of anything else, Leng Yaozhu was a Limit Douluo, and with someone like her watching over him, he felt quite at ease.
Leng Yaozhu had clearly anticipated this answer; upon hearing it, she nodded and turned to instruct the old man.
"Elder Li, lead the way."
"Sigh!"
Seeing that his persuasion was futile, Elder Li couldn't be bothered to say anything more. He let out a helpless sigh and beckoned them over.
"Follow me."
Soon, led by Elder Li, the group arrived at a room.
It was a pitch-black room, and the moment they stepped inside, what met their eyes were countless clusters of things resembling ghost fires, floating all around the space.
What is this...?
Qiangu Wuji looked on in surprise, his eyes narrowing as he activated the Heavenly Six Eyes.
"These are the primitive forms of spirit souls. They are currently in a chaotic state; at this stage, they only retain the instincts of wild beasts, so they are extremely aggressive."
Having said this, Elder Li glanced at Leng Yaozhu beside him and sighed silently in his heart once more.
The reason he had been trying so hard to dissuade Leng Yaozhu was that he knew exactly how terrifying these things were.
The creation of every spirit soul was based on a spirit beast, and since they were spirit beasts, the inherent ferocity was naturally indispensable.
In this state, let alone absorbing them, even being touched by one would likely be a major problem.
In the past, there were staff members who had accidentally touched these things, and he still remembered their fates vividly to this day.
"Is this actually a spirit soul of an Evil Eye Tyrant?"
Just as he was thinking this, a voice of surprise came from the side.
Hearing this, everyone looked toward the source of the sound, only to see that Qiangu Wuji had walked off at some point and was now holding a large ball of light in his hands, stroking it affectionately.
Witnessing this scene, the old man's eyes instantly widened.
"This... this is impossible!"
