"Senior Mu Ye, you called for me. Was there something you needed?"
Qiangu Wuji asked in the hall.
Hearing him, Mu Ye didn't answer right away. Instead, he fell into thought.
There was no doubt about it: he was tempted.
He'd originally agreed to meet Qiangu Wuji because Zhen Hua had kindly recommended him.
As for the Young Pagoda Master of the Spirit Pagoda, even if he was the owner of a Three-Life Martial Soul, Mu Ye hadn't expected to take much interest in him.
But after seeing what Qiangu Wuji could do, he couldn't help taking him seriously.
A Body Companion Martial Soul—something like that had never appeared in the Body Sect's history of over ten thousand years.
Mu Ye didn't know what it meant, but one thing was clear: if Qiangu Wuji grew up, with two Body Martial Souls, he would surely become one of the top experts on the continent.
If the Body Sect could bring in such fresh blood, Mu Ye even felt that, given time, it might once again reclaim the glory it had enjoyed ten thousand years ago.
What a shame...
Qiangu Wuji belonged to the Spirit Pagoda and would inherit its position in the future.
Even if Qiangu Wuji agreed, the two Limit Douluo behind him never would.
Thinking of that, Mu Ye couldn't help feeling regretful.
What a shame. If only Qiangu Wuji didn't belong to the Spirit Pagoda.
Though he felt regretful, Mu Ye didn't let it show.
In response to Qiangu Wuji's question, he sat down, looking rather uninterested.
"It's nothing much. Zhen Hua told me a bit about you. I've also heard him describe the Battle Armor design you drew. It's quite good, but you're still green. It's too soon for you to study under me."
His words were already a polite refusal.
Qiangu Wuji was surprised. He could tell that Mu Ye's mood had clearly taken a turn for the worse.
But why?
He racked his brain, trying to figure out what had made the other man suddenly change his attitude.
After thinking it over, considering his impression of the old man from the original story, as well as his own identity and Mu Ye's, he reached a conclusion.
Could it be that he thinks I'm from the Spirit Pagoda, and that teaching me wouldn't benefit him?
The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
Hadn't Mu Ye argued with others in the original story over who had the right to claim Tang Wulin as his disciple?
At that thought, Qiangu Wuji grew anxious.
He had come to meet Mu Ye for the Body Sect's secret techniques and the old man's mecha-designing skills. If Mu Ye refused to teach him because of who he was, that wouldn't do.
But how could he change the old man's mind?
He needed to give him a reason he couldn't refuse.
A reason he couldn't refuse?
Qiangu Wuji murmured to himself. Suddenly, inspiration struck.
As for a reason the old man couldn't refuse, he actually had one.
With that thought, Qiangu Wuji came up with a plan. He looked at Mu Ye, pretending to be bewildered.
"Senior Mu Ye, I'd like to show you something."
Mu Ye watched him with interest. He'd lived long enough to know better than to be fooled. He could tell Qiangu Wuji had caught on to what he was thinking and was trying to get his attention.
He didn't mind. He wanted to see how this clever little fellow would try to change his mind.
So he answered casually,
"What is it?"
Qiangu Wuji didn't reply. He simply stood up, took a deep breath, and slowly roused the Bloodline Power within him.
In an instant, his blood seemed to ignite and boil. Then a tiny flame sprang from the space between his brows.
The flame flickered, and his golden hair stirred gently in its glow. Beside him, Mu Ye shot to his feet, eyes wide as if he'd seen something unbelievable.
Under his astonished gaze, the flame at Qiangu Wuji's brow began to spread. In a flash, it engulfed his small body in fire.
The brilliant flames lit up the entire room.
Mu Ye stared, waves of shock crashing through him.
As the sect master of the Body Sect, he understood Bloodline Power better than anyone. So when Qiangu Wuji displayed the Phoenix True Fire, his first thought was that this was an application of Bloodline Power.
And he could feel that Qiangu Wuji's bloodline was of an exceptionally high grade, no weaker than any Super Martial Soul.
"Gulp."
Mu Ye swallowed. Without fearing the flames, he grabbed Qiangu Wuji by the shoulders and demanded excitedly,
"Tell me, what's the story with your Bloodline Power? I've never seen anything so pure, or of such high quality."
If anyone on the continent had the highest-quality Bloodline Power, the first person who came to mind was Beast God Di Tian.
As a Black-Eyed Golden Dragon King, Di Tian was one of the Dragon God's nine sons and possessed True Dragon Bloodline.
But Mu Ye could clearly feel that in terms of quality, what Qiangu Wuji had just displayed was in no way inferior to Di Tian's. It might even surpass him.
To surpass Di Tian—what level of bloodline would that take?
Could it be a divine bloodline?
"I don't know either. According to my mother, it should be a True Phoenix Bloodline."
Qiangu Wuji shook his head, then withdrew the Phoenix True Fire.
"True Phoenix... Could it be the True Phoenix who corresponds to the Dragon God?"
Mu Ye murmured, as if something had just occurred to him. His eyes widened again.
Someone else might have doubted him, wondering how a divine beast's bloodline could appear in a human.
But Mu Ye was different. As the sect master of the Body Sect, he had mastered the use of Bloodline Power and was more sensitive to it than anyone.
So he didn't doubt Qiangu Wuji's words for a moment.
"Divine... a divine bloodline. Of course. How else could it be of such quality?"
Murmuring softly, Mu Ye staggered back several steps, his eyes unfocused and his face blank.
A pair of Body Companion Martial Souls, a divine bloodline—all of it in the same person...
If he'd thought before that Qiangu Wuji joining the Body Sect could give it a chance to regain its former glory, now he was absolutely certain. If Qiangu Wuji joined the Body Sect, then in time, the sect would surely rise again. It might even surpass the Spirit Pagoda and reach the heights of the original Tang Sect.
His heart burned with excitement. He gazed fervently at Qiangu Wuji, his breathing growing ragged.
"Little fellow, I have to admit, you've given me a reason I can't refuse."
"Even if I have to tie you up, I'm taking you back to the sect and making you my disciple."
After a brief pause, he narrowed his eyes and took a few steps toward Qiangu Wuji with a grin.
"Little fellow, tell me—what color sack do you like?"
Qiangu Wuji: "Huh?"
