NASA monitoring center.
The staff and astronomers here had been extremely busy lately, because space had been anything but peaceful...
After the "Woodpecker" and "Space Station lockout" incidents, all information concerning "Super Boy" had been secretly handed over to Area 13 for investigation, leaving NASA responsible only for follow-up observations.
Then something bizarre happened again. First, while conducting deep-space observations, the Hubble Space Telescope "happened" to discover a distorted patch of light and shadow in Earth Orbit.
Estimates suggested that it was a large object far bigger than any known artificial object in space. Judging by its outline, suspicion quickly fell on the mysterious airborne warship that had been missing for so long.
And so... the American military and the National Security Agency suppressed the news again!
A space battleship had appeared in Earth Orbit, and it even possessed the capability to launch orbital drops anywhere on the globe. If this news leaked, it would deal a severe blow to America's national prestige.
Anyone with eyes could see that, against the Ghost Captain and his space battleship, America was now at a comprehensive strategic disadvantage!
For starters, if conflict broke out, those satellites in orbit would be nothing more than targets. The Ghost Captain could quickly turn them into scrap metal, devastating America's electronic and communications systems. This would reduce the combat effectiveness of the American military, which relied heavily on information superiority, by at least forty percent!
It was no exaggeration to say that whoever occupied Earth Orbit first would gain an absolute strategic advantage!
To preserve its image as the world's policeman, America naturally wanted as few people as possible to know. For now, only America's senior leadership and a handful of people in Freemasonry knew about it.
As one of the few people in the know, the
