"Negotiate? Hmph! Ridiculous. If we negotiated with them now, wouldn't that be admitting defeat in all but name?
"How could the mighty Twin Stars fleet compromise with a shadowy organization hiding in the dark?
"They failed to capture you in the Solar System, so what bargaining chips do they have left?" Gustav snorted.
"They still have the Solar System! With that much firepower at their disposal, how long would it take you to break through their wormhole defenses? How many casualties would you suffer?" Nie Yun asked with a smile.
"Well..." Gustav hesitated, but a Sea Race commander beside him confidently picked up the thread.
"Although our attack failed to inflict serious damage on their defenses, it still consumed a large amount of their supplies!
"They're nothing more than a small fleet without a large logistics vessel. They can't possibly withstand a war of attrition against us. After another two or three attacks, they'll collapse without us having to finish them off!"
"Oh? Two or three? Then let's talk after you've tried." Nie Yun abruptly dropped the subject, no longer insisting on his position.
This kind of attrition amounted to little more than a tickle against the Solar System Wormhole's current defenses. If Twin Stars really adopted that approach, Nie Yun certainly wouldn't keep "standing his ground."
"What's wrong? Alsace, do you think there's a problem with Gustav's attrition strategy?" Ishar asked, giving Nie Yun a meaningful smile.
"Heh! This organization is far too mysterious, and we have limited intelligence, so I wouldn't venture a firm opinion. I just feel things won't be that simple," Nie Yun said with a smile, leaving it at that.
Ishar smiled at his words and said nothing more.
If the Sea Race wanted a war of attrition, the Winged Race would naturally be delighted
