In the endless void, twenty Sea Race warships formed an Arrowhead Formation and slowly headed toward Kara Star.
At the center of the fleet, Gustav's flagship was protected by three small frigates arranged in a triangle, with a small combat carrier following behind. Farther out were assorted warships of greater tonnage and stronger defenses.
This was the force Gustav had dispatched to the blockade of Kara Star. Together with the seven ships already in the orbital suppression fleet, the total number of ships blockading Kara Star reached twenty-seven, nearly the size of a squadron.
Using such a force to blockade a planet with virtually no space forces was undoubtedly overkill.
In fact, according to the two Twin Stars commanders' tactical intentions, this fleet would establish a defensive perimeter around Kara Star. Its primary purpose was to prevent outside spacecraft from approaching the planet.
Just then, the small combat carrier behind the flagship suddenly fired its engines in two violent bursts-bang, bang!-and its speed abruptly increased a little.
All the ships had been traveling at the same cruising speed, and this slight change immediately disrupted the entire fleet's formation.
"Warning! H786, Hive, your speed is abnormal. Adjust your speed immediately and maintain cruising formation! Repeat, adjust your speed immediately and maintain cruising formation!" The AI Core quickly detected the anomaly and immediately issued a warning to the Hive's onboard AI Core.
Space Battleships in the interstellar age had naturally achieved autonomous operation. In cruising conditions like these, each warship generally used an automatic navigation mode controlled by its AI Core.
In this mode, the flagship's AI Core maintained the fleet's formation by issuing instructions to the subordinate ships' AI Cores, which in turn controlled each ship's cruising movements.
At this point, however, the Hive's communications module clearly could no longer receive
