Naturally, Nie Yun had not made up a story just to toy with the other man. Earth Civilization needed a reasonable explanation for how it had obtained these ten thousand Legendary Mecha.
"Making Mecha with his bare hands"?
That was the correct answer, of course, but he could hardly use it.
If others learned that Earth Civilization, a system-scale "micro-civilization," possessed the extraordinary ability to mass-produce Legendary Mecha, it would be like tossing fresh meat into a school of sharks.
Every civilization that heard the news would eye Earth Civilization hungrily. They might even band together to attack it.
But if Earth Civilization had merely been lucky enough to "buy" them from an outside source, that would be a completely different matter.
Even setting aside how many troops an assault on the Solar System would cost against nearly ten thousand Legendary Mecha, conquering it would offer negligible benefits. Worse, it might offend the advanced civilization backing the Solar System and create a powerful enemy for no reason.
However one ran the numbers, that deal simply was not worth it.
At least until the bluff about the "All Things Unity Society" was exposed, even the Second Prince would have to think carefully before attacking the Solar System again.
Half an hour later...
"What? You mean... those are pursuers from the Solar System?"
After obtaining firsthand information about the Iron Wall Fleet from Nie Yun, Leon promptly relayed it to the two commanders, Milos and Barty.
The news naturally left both men stunned.
"Didn't you say the Solar System was only strong enough to protect itself and was still on the strategic defensive? Just how much else have you been hiding?" Milos demanded angrily once he recovered.
Have you told us a single honest word?
"Er... this really did catch us
