"On you..." Anos's voice trembled. "There really is the scent of a kaiju."
Knight rested his crossed hands on the table, leaning forward slightly as he stared sharply at Anos. "Enough with the useless talk. Tell me, how is Akane Shinjo right now? How many times have you attacked Gridman?"
"How do you know that name?!"
Anos exploded to his feet, slamming both hands down hard on the tabletop and making the dishes rattle.
A fierce light burst from his eyes, every muscle in his body tensing like a beast whose reverse scale had been touched.
The customers at the nearby tables jumped in fright and all turned to look.
"Don't tell me you're that guy from before who looked a lot like Gridman!" In his fury, Anos glared fixedly at Knight.
"Wait, come on, don't get so worked up—" The Second tried to smooth things over, reaching out to calm Anos.
But Knight did not back down at all, answering coldly, "That's right. It was me. The one who stopped you that day."
Anos's pupils abruptly contracted, and he stared hard at Knight's face.
The instant the words fell, Anos lunged forward, his right hand hooked into a claw as it went straight for Knight's throat—only for Knight to catch his wrist firmly in midair.
Knight moved with astonishing speed, as if he had already predicted every one of his movements.
"Let go of me!" Anos roared and struggled, only to find that the other man's strength far surpassed anything he had imagined.
Knight's other hand remained calmly on the table, his cold gaze fixed on his past self. With a slight exertion of force, he pressed Anos back into his seat, his voice lowered.
"Save it. You can't beat me." He paused, staring straight into Anos's shocked eyes.
