Lumine felt the gentle touch coming from above her head and narrowed her eyes slightly.
Her whole body softened. Her once-straight back slowly leaned against the sofa, her shoulders relaxing as an expression of enjoyment appeared on her face.
"That's because you're just way too good at taking care of people, brother." Her voice turned lazy.
She paused, then turned her gaze toward Paimon No. 2 on the bed.
At some point, she had already fallen asleep, her tiny body curled up under the blanket, with only a fluffy little head sticking out.
She had wrapped the blanket around herself into a huge cocoon, her whole body nestled inside. Her nose twitched every now and then, as if she had smelled something delicious in her dream, and her mouth smacked twice, making faint little sounds.
Watching this, Lumine couldn't help letting out a soft laugh.
She turned her head, a tiny hint of complaint entering her tone.
"Too bad our Paimon isn't the least bit good at taking care of people. Forget helping me dry my hair—after she takes a bath herself, I have to go look for her, or else she'll stay in the bathroom until the water turns cold."
As if sensing something, Paimon No. 2 on the bed suddenly twitched her nose and rolled over in her sleep. She buried her face in the pillow, mumbling something under her breath.
"I'm not emergency food... mm... delicious... don't run..."
Her indistinct sleep-talk came in broken fragments. After speaking, she sank back into a deep sleep, her little mouth still slightly open.
Lumine and Mo Wang looked at each other and laughed at the same time.
Just then, the smile on Lumine's face gradually faded.
After a while, Lumine lowered her eyes and said softly, "I'm sorry."
Mo Wang's
