Dain thought of his old friend Leilier, who had also been searching for Moon Marrow. If they went together, perhaps he might even get to see Leilier.
Faced with the warm invitation, the two exchanged glances and silently communicated for a moment.
"I have no objections," Skirk said blandly.
Dain nodded slightly. "Then... let's go together. I don't have anything else to do for the time being anyway."
Lumine's smile instantly brightened. "That's great! With Dain and Master Skirk joining us, our team has grown again!"
She counted on her fingers. "Me, the Paimons, my brother, Xilian, and Columbina, plus Dain and Master Skirk—that makes eight people! Now we won't be afraid of anything!"
Paimon No. 2 cheered as well, spinning circles in the air. "Eight people! Eight people! Even if that Surtr comes back again, we won't be afraid!"
Seeing Lumine and Paimon No. 2 so excited, Mo Wang instinctively turned his head and met Paimon No. 1's gaze.
Those little eyes were full of an "I get it" look.
The two exchanged a glance and raised their brows in unison.
Paimon No. 1 floated to Mo Wang's ear and lowered her voice. "Why do I feel like those two are excited because they've finally seen someone else get drafted?"
The corners of Mo Wang's lips curled upward as he replied quietly, "Perfectly normal. We were the same when we recruited cannon fodder back then."
He recalled the time he had talked Hu Tao and the others into joining them. Looking at the expressions on Dain and Skirk's faces now—clearly saying "we can hardly refuse such hospitality"—he felt an oddly satisfying sense of fulfillment.
With the team expanded once more, Mo Wang did not waste any time and led the group straight toward the Fatui base.
