With a tremendous crash, Leilier's body slammed down onto the mountain. The body he had only just managed to revive had nearly died all over again.
"So... he's that powerful?" Leilier murmured to himself. Just as he was about to stand again, he discovered that Cosmos had raised both hands high, facing the sky.
At that moment, everyone in Nordkalle could see that the sky had split open into an enormous rift, revealing the vast starry heavens beyond.
And amid that sea of stars, a moon completely unlike any Teyvat had known before appeared in everyone's sight.
Under Cosmos's command, it began gathering powerful moonlight.
That moon, which the Heavenly Principles had cast out of Teyvat thousands of years ago, once again shone its moonlight down upon Teyvat under Cosmos's guidance.
With the blessing of the True Moon, the radiance belonging to Cosmos fell directly onto Leilier.
At that moment, the Abyssal Power inside him erupted, and terrible pain spread through his entire body.
Those pitch-black lines were like venomous snakes come alive, twisting madly beneath his skin as they tried to resist the purification of the moonlight.
More than that, he could clearly feel the Abyssal Power leaving him bit by bit.
It felt as if something were being forcibly stripped from the depths of his soul, tearing at every nerve in his body.
"No! I don't want this! It can't be like this!"
Leilier wanted to stop it from happening. He frantically mobilized the remaining strength in his body, trying to withstand that power.
But beneath the pure moonlight, his struggle seemed so powerless.
In the end, Leilier's body began to gradually break apart.
His limbs were the first to turn into black motes of light, then his torso, and finally that face filled with unwillingness and despair.
